Want to say something I have tought since the middle of last season. I love Hurd, but I do not think he is the correct fit for the running game of this concept. Kamara and Kelly are better suited. I believe Jalen will be more succesful in the NFL when he can get in a more pro-style offense. Don't get me wrong. He has been a work horse and I hope he breaks the all time rushing record, but I think you might see Kamara or Kelly break longer runs.

GBO...beat TAM!!!

Don't see Debord stopping the up the middle calls. Hurd could get the really tough yards when blocking is bad, he will be missed Sat!

Hurd was missed last week on 3rd and 3 in th 4th to put the game away. He's one of the best backs in Ut history and is going to be missed tomorrow. Hope he's 100% vs bama. That said, it will be fun watching JK.

Hurd may not fit this offense, but there's a reason he's the starter. He's going to be missed and frankly, what little chance we had this weekend is out the window if he isn't a 100% go Saturday. At the rate we're losing critical players, the UF/LSU game might not mean a darned thing as far as UT is concerned. Can this staff get the younger players ready to step in or will they stand pat and hang their hats on the more experienced but less talented players? I appreciate what Jumper has done and his tenacity to get where he is, but he will be exposed Saturday. They're going to attack him early and often. Picturing him in space against the athletes aTm will have....scary. As for Hurd, I've resigned myself that he won't be playing vs aTm regardless if the game time decision comment. Kamara and Kelly will certainly try to carry the load, but I'm pretty sure we've burned the RS for Fils Aime. If so, I liked what I saw earlier. Hope he's progressed enough and the staff has enough faith in him that he might get a few carries to see what he can do. I expect a long, hard day for the orange saturday.

This Jelly thing cracks me up. That is twice that VFL34 has referred to him as "Jelly". The name is going to stick. :)

Going to the game. I'll let you know what happens. Got you covered the rest of the season too.

Stop! Seriously how many of you ppl are gonna say he does not fit our system?? He's he the typical rb for this style offense? Maybe. Maybe not. Lets not forget for one second that he is about to become the all-time rushing leader at UT. So he's doing something right in this offense rather yall wanna agree or not. Also, he will be sorely missed this Saturday in passing situations when we need him for pass protection of the likes of Garrett. Lastly, he has hands out of the backfield. He's an all around RB. So before you go and right him off and the offense he plays in just go stroll down memory lane or heck just last week or the week before the impact he makes on this team. Hurd is the word!

Dude we're gonna be fine! Kamara and Kelly can and will handle the load fine. I don't think they were ever going to redshirt fils aime

Maybe someone with more insight (defensive football knowledge) can speak to this:

I wonder if Kamara and Kelly in this game will create a greater challenge than Hurd. I say this under the premise that maybe Hurd is more predictable than these two. I mean it seems like all the defensive coordinators we have faced this year assumed that Hurd (Debord) was going to pound it up the middle and that's what we have done. Kamara has got more burst and Kelly seems to follow his O-line blocker and then make his cut we he sees a gap.

He's so poor a fit that he's working his way up the leading rusher list even though we have a rushing QB

This all day. He has obviously been a better fit than any other back in any other system in UT history seeing how he is about the break the all time record.
Jalen is so much more than a runner for this team. Blocking and receiving are 2 areas he's very good in. He will be missed Saturday and next year.

So, you're saying jelly and Jam will get it done? That's good news. Oops, I meant jelly and kam, not jelly and jam. jelly and jam.

Let me first say that I really like Hurd as a back.
I believe however him leaving after this season is a huge mistake. Yes he may beat the it rushing records, however this season he has not put up the numbers and demonstrated his running ability as a dominant back. Even against some of the weaker teams he has not set himself apart as that ultra elite heisman caliber back that he has the potential to be.

Unless he blows out the rest of this season, I think he ( like North) despite incredible talent, hasn't had the opportunity to showcase his ability sufficient enough to attain the draft stock he deserves.
Come back next year with a more mature line and dominate. Then he gets higher draft pick and more money.
I not a pro scout but that is my humble opinion

You really need to rewatch the games this year. Hurd has done a helluva lot more than "run up the middle". He is a beast so yes he will get calls "up the middle" but he has ran a bunch of off tackle plays all year.
And guess what? He will "run up the middle" a LOT next year in the NFL. In fact he will most likely have an even higher % of between the tackle runs at the next level.

This is what happens when autocorrect pays attention to you typing in your grocery list.
If we get a player whose last name rhymes with beer, I'm screwed.
