This year, barring injuries at a key positions, and IF (and that's a big "if") Matt Milton is able to step up his game and make it into the top 3 WR rotation.

I've not been this optimistic since the 90's, and for good reason. I wouldn't trade Tyler Bray for another QB in the country, including Barkley at USC. Nor would I trade our WR corps for any team's. There are a lot of NFL teams that don't even have one star receiver, let alone 2-3.

So, if Milton can play at an SEC level this year, that gives this team an overwhelming amount of size and speed at the WR position.

I'm willing to look like a fool now, but I'm confident I won't by mid-season in the fall. The Gators are going to get handed their first arse-whooping from us in a long, long time. And it will be in their own backyard.

At that stage, the media and the nation will start to realize that we got something cooking in Knoxville, and this team will have the wind at their back (undefeated) going into the real meat of the schedule. History has been pretty good to us when we beat UF early on.

I wouldnt be surprised just because theres some uncertainty in the East, but I think we are too young on Offense and still thin on Defense.

I like the enthusiasm but Tyler Bray isn't even in the Top 5 of best quarterbacks in the country.

I gotta say the heart stomping we all took last year watching two almost wins has got to be paid back IN FULL. That means a better than expected team this year which turns into A BEAST IN THE EAST for 2012.

if the defensive line can stop the run and we have a few stoerner moments maybe... but Ga Fla and for gods sake sc are ahead of us in talent and depth right now... be nice if the dooley could get them to gel this quickly but next year we have to improve on the OL by leaps and bounds... our offense must lessen the three and outs to keep our defense off the field... but mostly our LB corp scares me... if i were an opponent i'd get fast backs out on screens to take advantage of our LB crew... as well as the ala method of running right at them... hoping for progress in year two but at the same time i'll cut the dooley some slack considering what he's had to work with.. will we be able to kick a field goal or punt the ball even forty yards? will we be able to return one(a punt) say fifteen yards this year?

I love the optimism and I feel it for the offense.

I just don't think we have a championship caliber defense.

We will lose 3 or 4 games due to our lack of depth at DE and our lack of experience at LB.

Dang. You got me on that one. I forgot for a moment that he was still in the collegiate ranks. Nevertheless, I still like what we got in Bray and Luck is the only one I might consider. Kid (Tyler) has a smooth stroke on his passes and the "IT" factor.

In fact, NFL prospect or not, I think Bray's arm is considerably better than Luck's.

I hope you are right, but we will be very young next year. I think the following year will be big for us.

He will be, and will make the first team ALL SEC before it's all said and done. I thought he was special before he ever got to start last year and he's proved me right since. So, yeah, come what may, I'm onboard the Tyler Bray bandwagon, full bore.

He just might, but let's not pretend that he's better than Luck right now.

Hope you are right.........What I think I like most about this post is how much better it is than what we could see on here this time last year!:::)

I wouldn't say we'll be "lucky" to be over .500 this coming year, but 6-6 won't surprise me. We play 6 teams that we should definitely beat, and 6 that are significantly better than us. We might shock one of those teams and get to 7-5, but that's about the best case scenario IMO.
