We all thought the same thing.

Missed field goals. Not going for it on 4th down. Giving up crucial 3rd and 4th downs to South Carolina. Blowing a 7 point halftime lead. Giving up an 85 yard pass and 70 yard run that each seemed to put the game away for good.

Those were ALL "Same ol Vols" moments.

But then we all saw flashes of what this team is and will be in the future.

Dobbs played out of his mind. I'm not sure I've ever seen an all-around performance like that by a Tennessee quarterback in my lifetime.

Hurd's spin move to break a tackle and power run into the end zone to bring us within 7 was something we definitely haven't seen since Montario Hardesty was wearing Orange and White, and Hurd is going to make him look like Tauren Poole by the time his career in Knoxville is done.

And the two sacks in overtime. My goodness. Was that Tennessee? When we settle for field goals in the first OT, we lose. We don't sack the quarterback twice, then force him out of bounds and force a 58-yard field goal attempt.

I saw visions of the future Tennessee during the Alabama game. The 1st quarter of that game was haunted by the Tennessee of the past. This time, it was the 3rd quarter. Dooley, Kiffin, and even Fulmer's ghosts linger, but tonight was a thorough exorcism of our past demons, frustrations, and curses.

The South Carolina win last year was tremendous because it was against a ranked team, but this win was arguably more important.

This young team won on the road at a place not called Kentucky or Vanderbilt for the first time since 2007. And they came back from a two touchdown deficit with less than 5 minutes to go to do it.

This is a new Tennessee team that is taking on a new identity. This is the Tennessee team that we will be watching in the future.

Now let's keep that new identity rolling by not just making a bowl game, but beating the hell out of our opponent too.

8-5, baby.

The players have the talent. We're just waiting for them gain enough experience to capitalize. Tonight went a long way to learning to do that.

Why the hate on Tauren Poole? He stuck around in tough times and gave his all for Tennessee all of his years here. Ended up having a solid senior campaign.

I am pumped and agree, but last year we followed the SC win with losses to Mizzou and Vandy. I will be completely sold if we take care of business the next 3 games to go 7-5 that we are finally on our way back to where we all want to be

Eh, I couldn't think of anyone else. I don't hate Poole. He was just a very average back at Tennessee.

There is no doubt that collectively the fan base is beaten down. But the team showed fight and determination and never stopped playing hard. Lots to talk about and analyze but great win tonight.

Not going to lie, after the last five years.......I thought their 58 yard fg was going to sail through the uprights and force a 2nd OT. When he missed, it was an awesome feeling to have been there to see our guys pull it out.

I'm so thrilled for these boys who have worked so hard. Honestly, I'm kind of glad I didn't get to watch the game as I don't think my heart could have taken it.

This is just the beginning and we're still playing 23 true freshmen that have lots to learn.

This is the O that Bajakien and buTch have been trying to build and teach to Win since day 1 but they haven't gotten all the players they need...yet.

Once our O is all together the O line will be much better, we'll run much better, pass better and control the clock the way we want and let our D have time to rest and make D adjustments.

Next year we'll be even better and the year after that...WATCH OUT!

Tennessee is on the right road to again becoming the Vols that every team FEARS having to play.

Our D will become VERY hard to score on and our O will become hard to stop.

It's the plan, the rebuilding process that buTch keeps talking about and it IS just beginning to work but as more top recruiting classes come in everyone will start to finally understand and see the WINS stacking up like we all want.

This is still rebuilding and very early in the work but it's going to be lots of fun watching our Vols get better and better every year.

Next year we get more Wins and scare the crap out of alot of people.

The year after that I believe we'll compete for the SEC Championship and beyond.

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

I didn't mind the 4th down call at all. I 'm sure Butch surmised that his offense would have more opportunities so decided to make the safe call. And as it turned out? He was right..

I loved how the D just cleared their heads, and went into the OT with a renewed attitude. Those 3 pass rushes were about the hardest our D-Line has rushed all season. I think that the D can make some adjustments and shut UK down.

If we would have started Dobbs at the beginning of the season just think where we might be now. This crap about staying with the senuor starter is blowing away the players that stayed because thay wanted to make this season count. You are starting a quarterback who clearly is subpar and wasting talent on the DOL.
We have the players play them now quit burning time . Dobbs is clearly our QB.

The 4th down calls were right each time. Dobbs scoring before half time and Hurd's spin move on 4th down are things we haven't been able to pull off in years.

We had a poor defensive game for the 2nd week in a row. Records are being broken at schools that have been around for over a 100 years. We haven't played a complete game all year so once we get some expierence this team is going to be good.

So did I. TN started to grow up during the Bama game, and I think they grew a ton tonight. With next year's class that's committed, I really believe we have a shot at the east next year.

Nothing different here. Seniority always puts you first in line. Here's a joke: What if Worley starts against KY? HAHAHA

Man it felt so good to get one of these tight wins and a plus it was on the road. Just imagine how these young men felt getting that W in William Bryce stadium.

I admit. I didn't think we could do it. I lost faith. So proud of this team now. They have fought for four quarters all year.

Well done Team 118! Well deserved!

Almost unbelievable. Aftervtge last several years we just don't win those games. We don't come back from 2 TD's in the last couple of minutes, go to overtime and win. Yet, we did it and it felt great. Future looks good.
