I will not be sold on this team as a top 10 until I see some form of defense from them. There's a difference between not being good on defense and not trying on defense. Tennessee was both last year. This team has a ton of potential, and offensively I think this team can score with anyone in the country. But I cannot think this team is serious contenders for anything until I see effort on defense.

Who we going to on O to break the droughts to which we've become accustomed?

I think that's one of the key areas for us. If we can go to Hopson instead of just Tyler Smith and he can get us a bucket during a drought, I feel like that will go a long way in determining our success. I really believe Hopson's improvement or lack there of is as crucial as some of the other areas of concern on the team.

He's not joking, he's drunk!

you're right. I'm drunk because I saw a team that refused to have anything to do with defense last year. I guess I was drunk when Jodie Meeks put 54 points on our ass last year?

Is there some hidden idiot portal that keeps dropping people into the basketball forum to babble about football?

no, why do u think i'm joking? This team didn't want to learn or try to play defense last year. Why should I think they're a 30-win team?

My apologies. :banghead2: I did not realize you started a thread on basketball. All I've been reading is football related lately. I do agree with your point related to basketball though:thumbsup:

Chism even though hes gonna be asked more to be a beast down low WILL get his looks from behind the arc.....I'm bettin 39% from him on 3's. When u bring the bigs out there to get on his azz u open it up for Tyler and Hopson to drive the lane and lay up which if it isn't there they will dish out to some open threes. Read many a articles saying Tyler isnt going to feel the need to force it down the lane b/c of the trust he NOW has in his team to hit the 3. Offense wont be an issue. We will get 85+avg a game this year i can jus feel it. I believe B.P. also when he says he has more faith in our teams ability to press this year like they couldn't last year. You can't expect first year guards to come in and be as fast and physical as Juwuan Smith(local boy here)Clevegas, and Lofty. This year under Mazes belt, Tabbs, and Hopsons will show on the court. I for one can't wait for the season to begin, we will def be a top 10 team with the SEC being much stronger then last years the losses we do have wont affect our rank as much.:salute:

Lmao i jus read a article where B.P. mentions Tabb yesterday on UT's main school sight and it had nothing to do w/ him being suspended but it says he increased competition among players and WHAMO....haters. Sorrrrryyyy!

Chism will shoot 39% on 3s. Are you serious? If he can shoot that percentage, perhaps we will move him to the 3 position and he will be a #1 pick in next year's draft.

Great call. Please tell us more about how much Tabb was increasing competition in practices he never participated in. While you're at it, tell us all the contributions he's going to make in a season where he's not playing.

If that happens, he'll be an All-American easily.

Then, I will have to check my arse to make sure pigs aren't flying out of it.
