"As for baseball, that Auburn series might remain in Knoxville. One concern is the fact that the SEC home schedule in baseball isn’t as appealing this year as last. This year Ole Miss, Vandy, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State are all on the road. The home series are Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Missouri, and South Carolina. Georgia is the only pre-season ranked team coming to town, while every road series features a ranked team except for Kentucky.
So do you want to give up a home SEC series for your fans and do you want to give up home field advantage in this league. That’s why playing the baseball series in Nashville may not happen.
As for baseball facilities, we mentioned in the war room a couple of weeks ago about the discussions regarding a building beyond the outfield wall similar to what Mississippi State has. That talk continues and the rumbling is that the University side is very much in favor of the building as well. We will see where those plans go in the coming weeks, months."
