He shouldn’t ever be in Neyland standing on any opponents sideline. That would be a terrible look, family or not.

It's weird to me that people think they somehow "deserve" some kind of behavior from Peyton Manning because he played at UT.

The man ALSO played several years in Indianapolis and several years in Denver AND a few years in New Orleans.

UT in no way owns the legacy of Peyton Manning.

He showed up for a lot of bigger games during the Decade of Decadence (2010-2019) ... we lost every one of them just about, because we sucked and he didn't show for the UT Martin game etc.

I’ve got two 2nd cousins that attend UT. They are such entitled brats I would definitely root against them because frankly, they need some difficulty in their lives. Probably not my place but is what it is.

And then I have family members I’d do anything for.

Not every family dynamic or familial relationship is the same.

He is pulling for Arch....not Texas, and it's only a one-year thing. Arch will go pro after this. My granddaughter is a cheerleader going to college. I will root for UT while watching her cheer for her school.

This whole situation just cements my appreciation for Peyton as a human being. His priorities are set and he is sticking to them knowing the responses he would receive from a fan base, which he loves, and yet remained true to his beliefs.

We are herd animals, despite how we crow about our "maverick" and "lone wolf" and "independent" traits, and a human seen as a leader breaking from the pack is disturbing to the herd, even if it's only for a moment.

At the core, socially, we're only slightly more sophisticated than a herd of cattle and, these days, just as docile to the whims of our handlers.

Hehehehe. Not really the human condition in "civilized" society anymore. We take what's offered rather than seek food or gather.

Our benevolent corporate overlords give us the choice between Walmart, Kroger, Publix, etc but it's really not much variation for most of us.

We eat, work, watch, etc what "The Man" provides.
