College Football News has Tennessee playing TCU in the Sugar Bowl and they have Alabama playing Wake Forest in the Orange Bowl.

I wouldn't be the least disappointed with an appearance in the Sugar Bowl and a top 5/10 finish. If we do better, fantastic, but I told myself over the last decade to never spite success. With our trajectory there should be hardware in our future.

I will be dancing when and if Tennessee is invited to the Sugar Bowl.

Meh, it's defensible. I don't agree with it, but it's defensible.

Everyone in the Top 6 is close right now, including Bama. We only beat them by 3 at home; they probably win the same game in Tuscaloosa. Feels like there's a big dropoff between #6 and #7 to me, though.
Agree...we win the next two and there will be no debate on #1, unless there's lagging Big 10 homerism. But, I am just enjoying the week by week of this season. We are on the upwards trajectory, and think JH will have us up there for a long time, but you just never know when there will be another magic season like this one...so far. We're playing with house money, so, let's take it while we can.

No.

When you are ranking a 7-1 team ahead of a 7-0 team, when the 7-0 team beat the 7-1 team head-to-head ? That could only be "defensible" if the 7-1 team had played a much tougher schedule. That isn't the case here. The two schedules are comparable.

You are applying conjecture with the statement that "they probably win the same game in Tuscaloosa," where conjecture shouldn't apply. The game was played and Tennessee won. That outcome should be respected by the AP voters. Otherwise, what is the point of competition, if voters can override the final results with their own personal opinion?

No it's not if you're going to rank Bama ahead of us even though we beat them, what's the point of playing the game??

he probably gets a vote for the heisTman as well and will vote for the QB from OSU just because he is NOT in the SEC.
