Pro vs College. There is not much of a choice if you are good enough to cut it. All the smoking mirrors and guns will gather in some top dog recruits but we just want the ones that know the difference between Pro and College and are willing to step up to the plate and prepare for it.

This may not be our year but the Standards have been raised for the years to come at UT. If you want to play in the kiddie box go somewhere else. If you want to prove your ability and prepare for the Big Show then bring what you got to Tennessee.

This is the Attitude we should take! Do you want the Real Deal or the Pretenders.

I agree. Over the past several years, I have seen our teams take the field with no confidence. When you watch FL, USC, or OK take the field they believe they are going to win and do whatever it takes.

We seem to be waiting on doom and gloom....

I want to see us take the field and blow people off the ball on offense, and just blow teams up on defense.

With this new staff, I see our talent level and confidence going through the roof!!!

smoking mirrors sounds radical, i think it's scientifically impossible though.

I guess I have to put it into "country boy" terms for some of the less fortunate.

Gimmicks, false promises, glamor and glitz where there is none. I feel sorry for some of these kids taken in by the Snake oil Salesman. This is where I think Kiffin and Co has the edge and I do not think he is blowing smoke with these recruits to get them here.

Seems as if he has a purpose in all that he does right now.

At least we fair better than several of the known liars of the SEC and there totally unethical processes.

Pipeline to the NFL? Big states, schools are key - USATODAY.com

through 2007 were 3rd with putting players in the NFL
So I think the standards have been here for a while

I am very much aware of that and knew that we had put more than our share of players in the NFL. I truly felt we recruited the NFL talent and did not develop it as much as we were given the credit of doing. Positioning has a lot to do with it and need but with this group I see Coaching playing more of a role than it has in the past.

I think there has always been talent and CPF gets a hit for not developing talent. I always disagreed with that knock on him. Plenty of talented players were sent to the pros under CPF but he could never "develop" a team concept! Way too many hotdogs and not enough players doing what was best for the team.

....we will lose all of our recruits on Wednesday. We have 13 solids and 5 looking at different options right now. Trooper and Drayton will get all of our solid and wavering commits to Auburn and Syracuse. I think we keep Rae Sykes though. He's the only one. :eek:hmy:

Come on guys....we are fresh on alot of kids' minds right now. They have a couple of days to rethink their decisions. We haven't lost anybody, keyword, YET.

I have no idea who we get or lose on Wednesday. I truly believe that CLK has got a handle on it and he will get what he needs and if he doesn't, he will adjust accordingly.

Agree. I know CLK and his staff have tried to cram 2 years into 2 months. After reading "Meat Market", I know what this staff can do recruiting-wise. I'm confident in being a Vol fan looking forward. Still can't believe that CFW just barely missed getting Joe McKnight to Ole Miss. If that would've happened, CEO and CFW probably wouldn't be at UT right now. CEO put together a solid squad for a freakin' Nutt. Ain't dat about a pisser.

It really is a pisser. When I look at this coaching staff, I am totally in awe. This group is a group of Professionals that know and love their jobs. They are not average joes they come from all levels and are capable of success at any level but have chosen to be here at UT. Pretty damn Good.

I think with this new coaching staff & S&C coach were going to see alot different vols squad than we have the past few years.

The new S&T coach did wonders at South Carolina & from some of the players comments he is doing great things here now. Were going to be alot stronger & faster than previous years. No more getting blown off the ball or pushed around.
