Unless his parents are well off (Barkley/Luck/Manning etc)
He is an idiot to come back. Do not pass up that $ should be our coaches advice!

I don't really know... but it seems to me they are. They just up and moved from Cali to Tennessee, then didn't like it here and up and moved back.

Seems like you would need some money to just keep moving cross country.

Or stay and potentially be the first Qb taken. Which means more money.

There's Bama fans all over the country to prove you wrong. Don't you know trailers come with wheels??? :)

I would expect to see McNeil, Croom, Latroy Lewis, and maybe even Bourque in that list. Someone else will likely surprise us as well just as Lewis has been so far. Also, its good news that we won't see too many freshman on the field alot this season.

I had said in an earlier thread that Bourque getting a lot of carries means that the workhorses (Lane and Neal) are either seriously underperforming or their is an injury. We already have plays designed for Young, which will take some pressure off of them. You're probably right about McNeil and Lewis (especially McNeil). Croom is going to be good but if CP gets in to school, Croom will be no better than 4th or 5th (behind Dallas?) on the depth chart. That puts him in very few places.

All that said, I know enough about the process of football to understand and greatly appreciate that it's not just the players on the field that make a huge impact. Tennessee hasn't had a 2-deep of SEC-caliber players for practice purposes in 4-5 years. The importance of this depth for practice, competition, and experience (even for those ahead of them on the depth chart) CANNOT BE OVERSTATED.

I don't recall having this many kids enrolled from a class already. This is huge for the learning curve. The entire class is in minus cp and borque who will be in July.

...

The impact will really come their soph yr as they would have been in college program for a good bit of time.

you answered your own "How" question when you made sure to put "sophmore year" next to impact.

I'm not sure how many freshman out of this class will see the field outside of mcneil and bourque

but bringing in sentimore, mcullers, and CP in one class is huge - all 3 could be big time impact players day 1, and all 3 should see starter snaps - really big adds

when you also consider that Lathers is another with a great chance to be an impact player for us you are adding 4 non freshman SEC capable starters in 1 year to a team that lost virtually noone

why does everyone feel Bourque would see the field?

over Lane, neal, DY and/or Hill :dunno:

cause borque is a bigger back with decent wheels
and our running game was horrible last year

that would be my guess

ok, how many broken tackles did you notice in his highlights?

He isnt a better prospect out of HS than Lane was...

Don't know if you watched Tom Smith and Lane this spring but they look like some good second year backs. Their body types are different from a year ago and they're running very comfortable.

The question was asked and I gave a answer to it.....
Not one that I agree with.

I think Lane and Neal can get it done.

These players will be on the field fairly quickly because they can play and we have no depth.

This. Plus Tom Smith showed in the spring game he will not be easy to beat out either.

Edit: didn't realize BB had already mentioned this.

I wouldnt disagree with you there - Neal and Lane were both great HS prospects - that being said our running game was awful last year so I think everyone at the position will get a shot

I hope Bourque doesnt play b/c that likely means Lane and Neal are living up to their potential but I think Bourque will get a much better shot than some other freshman who have a lot of competition at their positions
