a record of 1-1 and no SEC losses. There I stated the obvious...your welcome.:)

I know after the WKU win, we(VolNation) were all excited and I was sipping that kool-aid too... it was tasty. That win made me forget that we were bad last year, in fact horrible, and it also made me forget what my expectations were before this year started. They were simple:

1)I expected to see a more disciplined Tennessee team.
2)I expected to see a more physical Tennessee team.
3)I expected to see a Tennessee team play hard for 4 solid quarters.

Guess what, I am seeing it. This a competitive, hard playing Tennessee team with no quit. Even though we lost yesterday and it hurts like hell, this team is playing hard and the staff is trying to erase all the bad that has been in place for too long. It's a rebuilding process and we all know the saying..."Rome wasn't built in a day."

I think you have to ask yourselves, and be honest, "What were my expectations before the season started?" If you are like me, that WKU blowout made you forget those expectations and even change them a little bit. I know I'm guilty of it. After that win I was now expecting a lot more out of this team; more then I should have at this point and I think a lot of fans did the same....hence the meltdown yesterday.

From here on out, I am gonna keep in mind what I expected to see from this Tennessee team before the season started; no more, no less. Losses are gonna come this year and they are always tough to take but as long as they keep doing those things that I expect, I will be happy...for now.

GO VOLS !!!

great post!

there was a reason we were not top 25, not saying we wont get there (i think we will) but we need to keep going.

if your not moving forward, your not moving.

The difference from this year to last year is last year we would have not put ourselves in a good opportunity to win late in the game. So at least we have shown some improvement.

Last year we drove and took it into OT, I don't know what you are talking about.

While I am disappointed in our loss yesterday, I'm proud of the effort of our boys. I just hope Kiffin's policy of getting players on the field who can make plays includes all positions (no exceptions).
