I've been reading articles on VQ about Brown, Oku, Richardson and Jackson. All are talking about how during their recruiting process our staff promised them the opportunity to compete for a starting position or unique ways of getting the ball in their hands. I believe they are using this same speech fo 2010. I think alot of these recruits are waiting to see 1. how many freshman get opportunities to play and 2. how we show up in big games( I believe we could still loose some big games, but with a strong showing sway many top notch recruits that are interested in us.) I also think with 11 freshman on the 2 deep chart alot of these recruits(even those already commited to other schools) will give us serious looks and possibly change their commitments. Can't wait to see our new team. Go Vols

Sure makes a difference when you don't use the 'senority' rule like Fulmer did. May the best men get on the field. I hope this is done year in and year out.

I believe that is well just because you are a senior or because your freakin father or cousin played at ut. that shouldnt have anything to do with it

Dude we have had lots of great players who came here because thier Fathers, brothers or cousins played here. I would say that we still need to keep looking at the family of former Vols for players. Its a pipeline we don't want to close.

Kiffin really doesnt have a choice, Fulmer left this teams personnel in shambles with the exception of a few marquee players. Saban did the same thing at Bama, struggled his first year with the avg players he got from Shula and played freshmen galore last year. Expect to see alot of freshmen hit the field the next 3 years.

Kiffin has his work cut out for him. Early playing time for freshmen may not bode well for this season, but it bodes well well for getting them experience and getting future recruits. The fan base has to be patient, but I know that he will only get three years to prove his worth.

ok i have to jump in..

i hate bama and don't want any ut coach being compared to the devil himself

you need to go look at the players that shula recruited before saban got there. saban did add to the list with frosh but the foundation was there. More of the stars were recruited by shula and that is factdo. Also saban promised more scholarships than he had room for players i don't want that happening at ut that would be sad

saban inherited a decent qb that he was able to train up to be conservative but effective his senior year... bama will not be 1/2 the team they were last year without their precious senior qb. bama lost a lot of talent. a lot, they had like 5 go in the draft and then another 4 or so sign in free agency. Talent that saban didn't bring in

shoot even bama fans hated wilson year before last calling for a new qb because he wasn't saban's boy

Im just sick of vol fans looking at bamas one decent season and hoping for a piece of that. I don't want a piece of that crap they can keep their dam revolving coaching door down there and spend all their money till they run out of houndstooth textiles.

it would not surprise me at all if saban started looking for his next job by the end of the year. of course no one would know until it was announced that he accepted the coaching job at notre dame or whatever

The vols have an excellent chance at beating bama this year and if we do they will want saban gone hahah

would be nice to return the favor this year

I disagree about saban not bringing in talent. The reason his players haven't seen the field is because they were young. He did inherit a good group of players, but a he is recruiting like a mad man and is bringing in top notch talent. If Saban can keep recruiting the way he is then Bama will always field good to great teams.

Can you explain his last two recruiting classes? The 2010 class there is going to be impressive as well.

I would love nothing more than for Kiffin and Co. to have the success Bama has experienced so far under Saban. Of course, I want the Vols to beat them every year.
