UT belongs to the alumni , students and people who buy tix, jerseys etc. I could not care less what the media ( in particular Herbstriet ) has to say about F-all. I find it illogical that we cant hire someone of the caliber of Jimbo Fisher for example. If Bama can pay Saban 11 million per year and we are rolling in money , we can say to someone gilt-edge like Fisher-" name your price" . Why do we seem to always get these second-line people like Jones and Dooley. This is a capitalist system, everyone has a price, why get stuck with a coach with a suspect background when you are capable of affording who you desire? What Currie did was tantamount to sabotage. If this illustrative of his judgment he needs to resign. This is the worst cluster- u know what in 20 years. Other schools can find competent ADS , why not us?

Elite coaches can make money anywhere they choose to go...it's not about the money.

Elite coaches tend to avoid organizations with consistently poor leadership.

The type of coaches we get don't match the revenue that's being taken in. There's something wrong here. Are we being cheap?

its always about money- grow up.

No, it's not always about the money, and I'm closer to 70 years old than 30 years old.

If Nick Saban decided to leave Alabama tomorrow, he'd have his pick of schools offering ridiculous amounts of money. His decision on where to coach next would be based on factors other than who was the highest bidder.

Perhaps you should take your own advice.

You might want to start caring what the media thinks. As much as you might not like it, I'll tell you who does. Recruits. Recruits grow up watching ESPN. they grow up listening to the likes of Herbstriet, Macfarland, Finebaum and everyone else. If you think for a second that a 17 year old has the foresight to see past the media you're in for a rude awakening.

On another note, just because you buy a ticket and own a shirt doesn't mean you own the program. You know what, I watched a movie and bought some clothes. That doesn't mean I can tell those people what to do.....this type of thinking is what leads to the situation we are in now. No coach of any caliber wants to come in here and deal with this disaster.

Honestly the best coach we could get right now is Lane Kiffin and the administration isn't about to make that move. If for no other reason than fear of another BS protest and more bad publicity. What the Vol fans did yesterday shouldn't be seen as a win. It's a lose for everyone.

Being stuck with Schiano bullying everyone around with that big cloud over his head would be much worse.

This mentality is what's wrong with this fan base. You take everything personally and think you're the smartest person in the room. All the big names thrown around this forum aren't coming here. We will end up with another Dooley/Jones coach.

Jeezuz Jobu wake up the bats. Kiffin has a “lack of institutional control” slapped on us from his time here. Thankfully Blackburn navigated is through that mess or even Butch would’ve laughed at us when offered.

Not true. I once worked for the University system. Students and alumni are “products” manufactured by the University.

This is one reason why the UT administration really doesn’t care what the students or fan base think.

That's humorous. You started a thread filled with a bunch of cliche's about how this is "our" school. When someone points out how idiotic that is, they become a simpleton?

I would be willing to bet our inability to get a decent head coach, hell any head coach, is more due to the fan base than the check book. And it's people like you that have made it this way. Congrats.

Everyone seems to swing for the fences with coaching hires. They either get a homerun or a standup double. Our idiot ADs bunt with two outs, then talk about how we almost made it to first. It is getting old. I'm starting to not care. I bet we never were serious with any of those candidates on the list, and they decided to go elsewhere. Typical UT bs.

This school is not yours. Try to walk into a BOT meeting with a list of demands. Let us know how it turns out... after you post bail.
