for revolting against their Schiano hire

We are being shown our place and that they are in charge. They are telling us we should have went along and been quiet

This is revenge

Reject it and refuse it. Simple. If they go through, stop following and caring about UT football. That’s what it’s come to.

Silly. We reject an F rated coach that would be a horrible fit and drag us deeper into the pit of misery and might settle for a D rated coach who prolly will remind us of Dooley. Maybe get us back close to .500 records and be fired in 3 years

It’s not the fans fault. It lands squarely on the AD, the person who hired him, and the booster who bought him

Well if they think that what Jones did to the program last year was bad. They haven't seen anything yet.

They do not realize that programs like Minnesota used to be great many decades ago but now are insignificant.

People will let their seats go. Watching UT get waxed by UGA, UF, BAMA, USC, Vandy. Missouri, even UK. And do not even discuss the West, zero chance against them. Things change. UT will not be a factor for decades if ever again. Kids will not even consider UT as a destination. It will just be a distant memory. So yeah, show us you incompetent weasels. And enrollment at the university will suffer. That is a straight up fact.

I am lucky. I will no longer attend any games. Living near Clemson, I can follow a good program watching players that the idiot Jones let get away.

As Butch said, **** em all. They are committing career suicide.

As a season ticket holder, I will not be renewing.

No Count we can't take credit for it.. It wasn't us peasants that got that stopped. Our rants didn't matter in the overall scheme of things. The smear campaign against Schiano was the worst part of it, but some people with infleunce killed the Schiano deal, not us. If it was left to the people on a few message boards ranting about a bad hire he'd be your coach. The hire was so bad some state reps were talking about cutting their funding. This was bigger than the fans.

That's what I think. I think that they want to show us what happens when we try to get uppity.

The thing is, they are not in charge except where we’ve allowed it. We are not obligated to give our money which is what they want.

You are right, but the media is crediting a psycho fanbase. Convenient.
If you have an out of control teenager, or drunk uncle that keeps screwing up, there comes a time when responsible people intervene. It's time for that. Another fan uprising would stoke the ire of the media and our fanbase would get torched by the media. I mean, who does this twice? Can you imagine the storyline: "No way to appease UT fans- no coach wants to come because of rabid crazy fans"

You've all seen that narrative; in fact a few threads are starting to pop up by trolls blaming the fanbase and throwing insults.

I say- We are now in knee jerk mode and will have to settle for something less than we want. HOWEVER, if they keep a conga line of Dooleyesque candidates parading in front of the fan base, WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO? At the risk of being called a psycho fanbase, we might just have another revolt on our hands.

We have their attention now.

NOW is when we should unite even more, get much better organised, get emails and social media on fire and have thousands at Neyland with signs showing the Haslams and their group and the Admin that we will NOT stop until serious changes are made.

Some of our demands...

1...STOP the coaching hire until the following conditions are met.

2...Fire Currie NOW!

3...Fire Davenport NOW.

4...Hire Blackburn NOW and let ONLY him head our serious coaching search because a 50% or 60% WIN percentage is NOT even close to good enough for OUR Tennessee Vols..

5...Davenport replacement MUST be someone that understands our Traditions and that we demand good coaches for ALL sports at UT.

6...Turn the UT legal eagles loose if that's what it takes but get the Haslams and their ruling class OUT of OUR AD once and for all.

They can be allowed to write a check and include a letter of ideas and suggestions but that is ALL they will be allowed to do.

7...New rules for big money boosters...The Tennessee AD is owned by the people of Tennessee, NOT wealthy bigshots that want to use OUR AD for their personal politics and needs for more power.

We'll be happy to have a Board for top money boosters to make their suggestions but ONLY if those ideas and suggestions ARE totally in the best interest of UT sports and the students that play those sports.

Right now we have the attention of the media and all serious sports fans nationwide so NOW may be the last time that we, the real fans of all Tennessee sports, might have the opportunity to clean house, make serious positive changes for OUR University and AD and get things right according to what we believe things need to become.

VFL...GBO!!!

You're right. They went after gundy knowing he would say no. Floated out that obscene contract to show they "really, really tried" then they immediately go bargain basement prices. This is BS and I will not support it.

The bright side is I will have some money freed up every fall. Going from Jackson to Knoxville for a weekend game isn't cheap and neither are those donations/tickets. Thanks John Currie you saved me a ton of money due to your commitment to excellence. I hope you have a ton coming in from men's tennis you piece of dog feces.
