This is not even close to being all JG’s fault!!

I have to put this squarely on Pruitt as well as the QB coaching staff. JG should have never been on the field, this staff is unable to develop quarterbacks.
I don't believe JG can be developed.

I've said it for a long time. This seems to be an innate inability to process information quickly or "anticipate" throws. Same problem with different manifestations that we've seen since he took 30 sacks in 7 games as a RS Fr.

There's no doubt about it at this point. The poor guy has taken more pressures than any QB should, but you NEVER see him evade a pass rush and there are too many times where he just doesn't sense the pressure or see throws. It's not that he's dumb. It's just a hard position to play and some guys can see the field and some can't.

At the same time . . . no offensive line should flat out bust as much as ours does. It's insane.

This is all 100% on coaches.

JG is limited and we all know that. Coaches know that as well. However, knowing all that, coaches have not:

1. Figured out that our opponents know what JG’s passing strengths are and play their defense to cut these throws out.

2. Knowing the deficiencies, instead of getting our other QBs reps with the starters as well, spent all that time on JG and now have no QBs behind him with any significant time with the 1’s

2a. It is so bad, they have to have Sunday scrimmages just to get HB some snaps...but still not with the 1’s

3. Have not developed any consistency with an OL and continue to shuffle players around on the line preventing them from getting comfortable with each other

4. Failed to ever teach a DB how to cover the frigging slant pass

5. Can’t teach how to cover the middle of the field

A QB should have an expectation of getting 3 seconds to pass. We did not give him that. On the strip sacks he had two hands on the ball, nothing he could do. People should be angry with the play of our tackles not QB. The rush didn’t come from the middle it was all outside. The guards seemed to hold up in protection. Although no one gave us a push in the run game. We have to speed our tackles up. I don't Think JG held the ball too long on any of the strip sacks. He made some mistakes but most of you are putting your blame on the wrong person. Ask anyone who played or coached football. They will tell you the same. To many people on here think they know a lot about “team” football and how it works together and they really know just enough to go blaming wrong people. It’s easy to do from the couch!

Thanks for leaving an archive of the fan that is responsible for the absolute collapse of Pruitt’s tenure as coach.

How you could have watched the last 3 years and made the post you did last week...and then see this...have you gotten it yet?!?!!??

I’ve sais it elsewhere. This isn’t just a JG problem. We are in over our heads.
It isn't just JG. The D can't defend the middle of the field. They fade in the 2nd half (partially a function of JG's ineffectiveness). The OL isn't as dominant as we all thought it would be.

However ALL of those things get better if you have a QB that is difficult to defend. DC's know what JG cannot do mentally. They know that if they deny him stationary open receivers or force him into processing information quickly... they win. It isn't altogether what JG "does"... not even the turnovers. It is the things he cannot do that allows opponents to defend UT's O.

I will agree. Only 99.9 %.

I understand that to a point. But the OL which is supposed to be good, is getting shipped on most plays. The KY OL imposed their will on our D. This is a team issue not a one person issue. As we did in Pruitts first year, we have quit and that’s a coach issuecthat CJP needs to address.

I'm starting to want to see a 1-2 punch with Banks and Crouch at RB myself...

No way JG should hog practice reps any longer. We need to develop for the future, nobody loses and year this year. At this point you go with the QB that has the highest ceiling while not hesitating to put Shrout,Maurer and JG back in if the others fail in that order. We need to coach the qb's the rest of the way like Spurrier would, and if the announcers are correct why are we so enamoured with having a complex offense to run. Actually they said it was the most complex in the entire sec. I have a hard time believing that, because we have NO BUSINESS with trying to be complex. I am having a hard time following just what we are doing, but I do no at this point sure I want to win but I can't see for the life of me after today why we aren't working in other qb's. JG's ceiling has been hit, it is what it is. Good defenses no what he can and cannot do, the CAT is out of the bag. GBO!!!!!

I think JG, despite his faults ,is our best chance to win this year. However, this fanny kicking tells me this is a lost year so it’s time to play for the future. We won’t win more than 3 games this year so let’s look to the future. Let’s recruit by selling the “you cannot play immediately“ card and see if we can save the future
