This is not a "Trap Game"

Georgia does not play defense consistently enough to beat Tennessee.
One play Ole Miss ran that caught my eye is the read option

If they give that much room to Dobbs will set another record.

Kelly threw it into double coverage. Not discrediting his accuracy but neither DB even attempted to make a play on the ball.
They don't tackle well.
They have no identity on O.

Vegas just knows betting on Tennessee historically is awful. Seldom to they cover either way. So, history and statistics is what Vegas is betting on. They aren't saying the Vols will lose, they are saying they might, might barely win. So, either a nail biter or a win for Georgia straight up.......

I really hope the Vols beat the odds and roll. If they can springboard off of the second half of Florida game, they might win handily. Might. I really, really hope. Nail biters wear on our mental and physical health.

This is a golden opportunity for the Vols to come out as gangbusters and prove the nation wrong again....

History/statistics aren't on the Vols side though.....

Anyone who thinks we won't be ready for Georgia doesn't really pay attention to the SEC. When you enter conference play in the SEC there is no such thing as a trap game because anyone can beat you.

I guess I am paranoid but I am very concerned about this game. The Dogs will be fighting for their season here. I hope we bring the legions of he*l for four quarters.

While I agree with you that anyone can lose at anytime, it is just our opinions......then.....there are statistics.....while they aren't always right at predicting an outcome, they are right more than they are wrong.

Hopefully they will be wrong.

All logic aside, there is this stupid tradition between UT and UGA that we win a big game on a week they lose and then next week we pull a stinker and they get the W. I don't think we are going to follow that tradition this year, but it has happened more than once in the past.

I agree, Mizzou/SCar are way more in line with being "trap games" than our first away game against UGA.

Vegas has us as a 3.5 point favorite. That is the lowest amount we have been favored by all year. Therefore, Vegas is saying that it is going to be our toughest game yet. That is saying something considering how we have struggled in all four games.

The boys in Vegas are usually right. They didn't get all them shiny casinos by being wrong.

A point spread is not a predicted margin of victory. They have all those shiny casinos because they are good at getting money on both sides of the bet.

Remember the old days when we got excited about going to the Taxslayer Bowl? Some of us have been seriously spoiled by the progress Butch has made. Keep it up Butch and 120!

Butch and Co. haven't done a damn thing as far as adding to the trophy case.

If we are "spoiled" because of beating a team we should beat pretty regularly... then ok.

It's NOT the program that "spoiled" me!!! I can tell you that!

Butch and Co. have a chance to climb another hurdle and PROVE he can have a team READY and PREPARED to win when expected to win.

We'll see.

Logic tells us that we are the better team than UGA in almost every phase of the game. But the edge on Georgia is that we will come in too high off our win against Florida and that Georgia will play with greater passion this week and bring us down to earth.

I have a hard time believing that we could possibly overlook the UGA Bulldogs, considering this is the most important game on the rest of our remaining schedule, and will ultimately determine our chances of getting into the Atlanta. This is a HUGE game.

Regardless of what we think of UGA, the outcome of this game will essentially define our season. So no, I do not think this will be a "Trap Game".

But seriously guys, some of us are actually worried that we might be overlooking Georgia. How times have changed since the Dooley years....

I agree that this is not a trap game, but possibly A&M and certainly Alabama could be considered just as important for the Vols. Actually, most coaches will say that the most important game a team plays is the one they are playing on any given week.

#120 has already proven to be a statistical anomaly. How great will they be? That's the question.

In regards to winning the east, this game holds more importance.

Of course it's not a trap game. It's UGA! They will play us tough and we will have to play a great game to get out of there with a win.

I honestly think that the outcome of this game will say more about what kind of team we have than the Florida win did. A win Saturday will prove that we can sustain success and not be satisfied with just one big win.

UGA is not a trap game.

But it always seems to be a tight game. We need to play well and play 60 minutes to get out of there with a W. I think it will be into 4th quarter and hopefully we can get a 2 score lead, otherwise could be last possession.

The stakes are enormous. East is there for the Vols to take.

Would take a lot of pressure off the A&M game and Bama game relative to winning the east.

Go Vols! You have to go win the game, they are not going to just give it to us!

VOLS cannot just show up like they did against appy & Ohio and expect to win. TN will have to come out ready to play. Good news for the vols is that this is not the UGA team from last year or prior years at all. TBH, if we play well for the entire game, there is no reason we do not win by double digits.

If there is any trap game, it'll be after the break. CBJ and company, as well as the rest of us have been continuously reminded, and are well aware of this four game stretch and it's SEC east implications. T120 is running a gauntlet and they know it, running straight at it.
