The Rose Bowl seemed small because it is small.

Though it did seem kind of small last year (which I had no issues getting in and out of the tunnels), it is far from a small stadium.

As of 2008, the Rose Bowl is number eight on the List of American football stadiums by capacity with a current official seating capacity of 92,542, and is still the largest stadium that hosts post-season bowl games

Mainly this. Climate isn't an issue with the bowl games in Charlotte and Nashville. Those are just NFL stadiums.

we stood in line cramped like sardines for a good 10-20 minutes outside the tunnel, then another 5-7 minutes in the tunnel.

true but i was in the TN end and we were screaming all types of chants in the tunnels
