WHAT IF....Pearl is heavily punished but remains the coach at UT? I know, it's a long shot. But how do you see Tenn's future if he remains? Realistically, without the sarcasm.

I'll be very, very pissed off, and I hope the UT fanbase would be also.

I can understand. I would say it would be VERY frustrating. The only thing that makes me wonder if it's possible is his body of work. While not outstanding, it still improved the overall quality of their mens basketball program. Just because Hamilton said he doesn't know Pearl's future doesn't mean it's set in stone he is fired. It could just as easily go the other way. He could have said that meaning he didn't know what the NCAA was going to recommend that they do. I think that Hamilton and Pearl have compromised their relationship but lets not forget the huge role that the new president will play in this. How is his relationship with Pearl? If it's good, he could just as easily be back and Hamilton be gone!

The 91 pct on govolsxtra would be shocked, under the impression he had served his punishment already. They will insist they never knew a 2 year show cause was possible

His teams latest performance is evidence of his usefulness to the Tennessee basketball program in my humble opinion.

I do not think Pearl will be here. He probaly will get a one year suspension from the NCAA. If he does you can't keep him. Just remember he brought all this on himself.

I have and still disagree with this crucify attitude toward BP. I think that he has greatly paid the price. The reason Tennessee is taking such a hit PR wise is not all his fault. I believe he deserves a second chance. You must remember others like Ohio St. have been gunning for Pearl because he has kicked their buts. There is a lot of hating going on because of his success. I believe he is the man for the job and if he messes up one more time he is gone. Remember if he leaves that will completely deplete our current and future talent pool. I hope they really think about this.

The negative and questioning posts that come up on this board will never end. It will be like "Pigpen" from Peanuts. BP will always have a cloud of dirt hanging over his head (and the program he is tied to). Time to move on to someone fresh and "clean" who will build a winning program - Gregg Marshall gets my vote.

If pearl were to stay he would be forced to get players that are underrated an play like he did at UWM and tn the first few years

I don't care about rating, regardless of the coach, unless it's a list that Cal would get. I watch a lot of ball and have watched, like most of you, the last few days. UT needs basketball players who can dribble, cut, pick, find an open area, shoot, box out and play smart D. I have seen dozens of unranked players making plays for teams the last couple of days. Being 6'7 and athletic means jack squat if you don't know the aspects of the game. Whether it's BP or whomever, we gotta get some ball players in asap.
