I didnt expect much from the DBs and the WRs have done what I expected.

However, everything else I was confident in has disappointed. Front 7, usage of not just the WRs but wheres the TEs? Im still worried about the OL, despite improving over the game.
Then the things Ive been iffy on has surprised: JG, Jordan (didn't think he was THAT good), the new punter, cleaner play...
So Im not sure how to take the game lol

We won’t be a championship level team for at least 2 more years and that’s if Pruitt turns out to be the guy.
We won’t know that for a while

Ive said 6- 6 would be impressive. I like a lot of things this staff has done so far.

I love the Vols but i'm disappointed by the performance today. I hope it gets better as the season goes along.

I’m kind of torn as well. First, this game never mattered. Win or lose, it doesn’t impact our season or obviously our SEC record in the least. JG looks to be coming along nicely and Jordan looks like he will be good as well. However our DL gets very little penetration, and our DBs aren’t at all good enough to be left alone with our LBs blitzing. Also, we still can’t stop the run even when we know it’s coming.

It’ll be interesting to see everyone’s thoughts later in the week after we’ve settled down. I do believe that if we can settle down on defense, and our OL can find their groove, we can become dangerous.

Overall, I think we have looked better than we are entitled to look after the last few years. With that said, the oline is still finicky and the secondary is still rotten.

He’s the head coach. You can.
Coaching his first game against the best QB in the country with the best WR corp in the country with two true freshman starting in the secondary? Volnation is ridiculous, there was no reason to expect to win this game, and it’s amazing how people are furious with a coach after his first game

No. Volnation is sick of losing and sick of excuses. Period.

It's the Juniors in the secondary that disappoint me. Buchanan, warrior and Abernathy are just toasted. Repeatedly. That said, there are some signs of things to hang our hat on. The O line progressed in this game. Guarantano showed he's the guy some of us thought he could be. Receivers looked good, Tim Jordan could be a star. D line was lackluster. After the horrid offensive play calling early, everything gelled a little and at least we look like we know how to play a little ball. If the defense gets to that point, we're doing well. All my humblest opinion, of course.

It was a **** show. Osborne was a highly recruited corner. Did he develop him? No. He started freshman by choice. Flowers as well. They all like looked like ****. You can eat **** if you want, I’ll pass.

I disagree about it not impacting the season, and to a lesser degree about not stopping the run. Really hard runs by that back. They were so good at passing it opened up the run. I am most disapoinyed with the entire front 7 that one writer said could mimick the Broncos of 2015. LOL

How freaking good would the secondary have to be to stop that air raid?
