This game was the exclamation point on it was always a rebuilding year.

Our roster was always young, but from a blue chip perspective this was the first season we were over 50% BCR. I simply think our coaches did not do enough in the transfer portal to help the depth on this roster. We lost to 4 top 15 teams. The margins were thin. And we did not do enough defensively to overcome those thin margins.

So it’s completely unheard of for a new D coordinator to come in and improve defensive performance? I’m begging you to say no..so I can start throwing out examples.

Winners don’t make “rebuild” excuses, or lost key player excuses, or any other type of excuse. Winners normally get very upset with themselves after a loss, learn from the mistakes that caused them to lose, and commit to winning the next battle.

Have you watched the players disposition after a loss? They’re laughing, having a great time, no fire, no will to win, no commitment to win. It’s just fun and games to some of the guys.

The difference between our Vols and Vandy is that our Vols are 4 and 5 star promadonna’s while Vandy has a team of 3 stars with Al Wilson’s mentality. They were more mentally prepared, wanted to win, and they have better position coaches, obviously.

We can use the rebuild garbage excuse but that doesn’t hold water with me. Our team has NO FIRE, NO DESIRE TO WIN. Sort of like their coach.

I feel like the term rebuilding lacks perspective now… How many consecutive losing seasons have Florida, Auburn & Florida State had? 8-4 for us is brutal but is what it is. Florida and Auburn 4 or 5 straight losing seasons?

This is 💯 percent correct. Heupel doesn’t have the fire in his belly. I’m not saying he can’t coach. But there’s levels to this. We’re usually unprepared on the road and lose games we shouldn’t.

Now we’re getting violated at 🏡 by Vandy. Something has to change. And sure, Faizon is a 5 ⭐️ who cares if nothing changes with the other 100+ guys on the team. We have few if any DAWGS.

Heupel….cmon Bro you gotta fix this ****. 🔝 10 class coming in. No more EXCUSES. no UGA or Florida next season.

News flash. Next year with an unproven QB is a rebuilding year. This was supposed to be the year with a veteran QB that would be an up year. But the defense is horrible, which has nothing to do with the QB. I not even sure what Heupel’s plan is any more.
Until proven otherwise, the only plan appears to be floating along with his buddies on the same ship and it’s started to sink. Pun intended.

Explain to me how this roster isn’t a rebuilding year?
Did you even look at Georgia? Rough math but TN is 64% underclassman, Georgia is 63%, Texas is 62%, Ole Miss is 60%, and even Oklahoma is 58%. None of this arbitrary categorization of players tells us anything. The only thing we know is that at least 2 of the 4 coaches of the other teams are good.

This is year 5; scheme, depth, recruiting, and transfer portal should all be stabilized by now. The floor of this program should be at the top tier of SEC teams. I'm not saying win the Natty or even the SEC every year, but we should be swapping blows with the perceived top dogs of the conference (AL, UGA, Ole Miss, and Texas).

As a matter of fact, I'm growing on the idea 2025 is worse than Heupel's 2021, and the fact the comparison can be reasonably made is damning in and of itself.
