This game was the exclamation point on it was always a rebuilding year.

Yea, and years from now we can all say we saw the greatest team in Vanderbilt history come into Neyland and beat our very average team…

We‘re 8-4 and will get three weeks of extra practice and a bowl game. Need to close out recruiting strong, make sure we retain the players we want to retain and pick up some talent/experience in the portal…

we’re about 9 months from next season

Rebuilding means building again, insinuating you have built something and you need to rebuilt it. Exactly what did we build? No championships, no playoff wins, total annihilation in a playoff game.

I have heard the rebuilding year excuse 10 out of the last 15 seasons.

Do I think CJH has had a good year? No, I don’t. 8-4 (4-4) would have made sense to us all in April. I agree the goal posts moved expectation wise after seeing JA was a capable passer and QB. It’s a tough situation.

News flash. Next year with an unproven QB is a rebuilding year. This was supposed to be the year with a veteran QB that would be an up year. But the defense is horrible, which has nothing to do with the QB. I not even sure what Heupel’s plan is any more.
