This change in college football is not good for UT.

When Texas A&M joins the SEC some people think it's going to help us, I don't see it..I see it doing more damage than good, A&M might give us a new market, but it also hurts recruting in Texas for us, we can no longer tell a kid that "Hey I know you're moving hours away from home, but you can play in the SEC at Tennessee, you can't do that in Texas"...Well now that pitch is dead beacuse instead of leaving home he can stay in Texas so mom and dad can watch him play in the SEC ALOT closer...Now add FSU to the fix and that's one more team in the state who can say "We play in the SEC" not all Florida kids like the Gators, but they like the SEC..So they can still hate UF and play in their home state in the SEC...We MUST recruit national and with the new "Super leauges" we lose a big recruting pitch.

Let's talk about history and tradition that sets CFB apart from the NFL..You'll lose rivalries that make our sports special..It makes BIG 12 titles that teams like A&M and Nebrasksa won mean less...Do you guys know we have 16 confrence titles? Well if you don't know we do, but people only remember the 13 SEC titles because that's where we play now.

I know some of you will disagree with my stance and that's fine, but I think all of this hurts college football and I really think it's going to hurt Tennessee. :disappointed:

Overthinking it. Please don't lose any sleep over this, it's gonna hurt LSU and Ark WAY more than UT.

Denarius Moore for starters, take him off last years team and we go from 6-6 in the regular season to atleast 5-7 (UAB) if not worse at 4-8.

How about Dalton Santos LB who's from Texas that just chose us over Texas A&M? I wonder what played a huge part in choice?:whistling:

He could be.

I don't think expanding will cause Tennessee to lose star players.

Through history, where have most of our greatest players come from?

Georgia and Florida..A places that A&M can recruit better now, if we add FSU too we probably lose kids like Saulsberry and Williams who said that playing in the SEC was a huge factor they just didn't like UF, they could now have FSU as the closer option.

I'm not just talking A&M i'm talking about the 16 to 20 team leauges that people think is about to happen.

You do understand that A&M will only be able to sign like 25 kids, right?

I think that you have to consider that MOST of the players in Texas do not go to aTm. They are a technical and agricultural school mostly and have a very conservative environment. Kids who want to enter other fields would waste their time there.

Just like Santos said, Tennessee is a beautiful part of the country. Everyone is not going to fit into the Aggie mold.

Yes, please go read the title and the first post.

This isn't just about A&M, it's about everything that's going to happen after they join.

1. No one's talked about 20 team leagues.

2. Not many of Tennessee's best players have come from Florida at all, unless you want to say guys like Nu'keese are legendary football Vols. A&M won't be taking players from Georgia. FSU's likely not to even join the SEC.

Tennessee's never had extreme trouble recruiting in the south when having a strong coach.

I did read it, and still think you're overthinking it.

Key word was "big time".

D Moore was a 3-star but ended up being a solid receiver. We had a few commitments from TX that ended up changing their minds before signing day (i.e. Ahmad Dixon) but we RARELY get guys out of TX anyway.

This thread is a poor argument. The only reason A&M hurts TN is it means there will likely be a team eventually added to the SEC East as well, meaning we have 1 more team we have to beat during the regular (and likely a team that will be better than Vandy and UK). It will probably end up meaning a 9-game conference season for everyone which takes away one of the buttercup/automatic win games out of the schedule.

As far as recruiting goes, it can't hurt us.

I love when people post without reading.

For the third and last time..It's not just A&M that's going to hurt us, it's what happens after they join..The start of the "Super leauges"

D. Moore made a ton of big plays for us the last 2 yrs. A lot more than the Barn (Gerald Jones) did.
