In 2013 we came up just short in a long, hardfought slugfest against Georgia. I was one of many at the time who thought we'd used up all our juice and would have little left in the tank for the Gamecocks.

This isn't meant to compare teams/seasons, but just to testify to Butch's ability to get our guys ready to play their guts out. And I think you'll see the most fight out of our 11 guys on the field that you've seen all season. They see the open date next week, and they will be spending everything they've got for a victory. I'm confident that will be more than enough to beat a very good Alabama team. UT just wants it more!

I truly believe the Heart of Team 120 is going to carry through the rest of the season!! They have yet to be able to establish an early rhythm, but it is coming!! I also know I am on 2 different blood pressure pills from this season!! lol! GO VOLS!!!

I would just tell the boys to give everything they have left in the tank this Saturday. They get a bye after this week too so no reason not to give it all.

I actually do think that there's the potential for a blowout. Not because of talent or because we're a bad team or anything like that. I just think with all of the injuries and having to go through that gauntlet that this team will be exhausted.

This 2013 South Caroline game? :dance2:

We win tomorrow.

Cause we need to. Cause we're due. Cause our kids deserve it!

We are Team 117! The Tennessee Volunteers!! I'll see you guys here to celebrate tomorrow night!!

Positive mojo only in this thread. Nothing negative. Nothing bad.

Go Vols.

We almost beat Bama last year coming off a bye and they had gone 7 games without a bye. We don't have that benefit this year. For some stupid reason our bye is before the cupcakes of our schedule. 10-2 is still a real possibility for the year and if we get some help from the SEC commissioner we'll win the east. We had the chance for a magical season but key injuries and a lack of ball security have taken that away.

If we come out of the gate with our ears pinned back, especially on defense and play brutally hard (but clean) football and manage to cause injuries to their QB, we can establish dominance and control over the game and with the crowd at neyland in full throat anything is possible.

I would not give up so easily on beating Bama. If Butch has been doing his job, he will have instilled an undying hatred of Bama into his players. And in football when you play furious you play better. Anything can and will happen against Bama. This is the pinnacle of our regular season. Leave it all out there on the field and play like you hate them for real. We can win this game if we keep control of the ball and instill real fear, the kind of fear that makes you question your decisions in life. This is what Alabama week is all about .
