Third and one on Bamers 48, and who do we choose to give it to?

I'm still shocked that our d-line could not get any pressure on Wilson. Of course it looks alot worse when Bama had 2 o-linemen out and we were at full strength. I'm still scratching my head over that.
Does our D-line suck that bad????? I guess it does.:ermm:

they just were not ready for those backup OL players.

just like 01 when chavis' D was not ready for the backup LSU QB and backup LSU TB.

AR is going to bench mcfadden as their winning move -- TN D won't be ready for the backup.

except that Arky's backup should be the frontrunner for the Heisman and everybody gameplans for him.

I don't think allvol was blaming the freshmen. He was probably blaming the coaches for putting them in that situation. I know I blame the coaches. Third and one you put in a freshman with very little college experience instead of your hoss of a back who is averaging 7 yds a carry.

Correct, not trying to single any one player out, and didn't blame the loss on your son.... I just thought that Fulmer had given up and started putting the backups in at a time I thought was very crucial. Especially when 3 of the top 10 receivers in the SEC are sitting on the sidelines.

One thing that the previous Tennessee coach never did was give up in a game... no matter the score. One season, the Vols were losing to Alabama 42-14 at halftime. The team never gave up and went toe-to-toe with Bama in the 2nd half... matching every Bama TD with a Vol TD. No quit. Probably a better example was when the Vols were losing at Notre Dame 31-7, and actually came back to win 35-34. Just like the Texans scored 29 fourth quarter points against the Titans the very next day... never give up.

And regarding the defense, they were still bad, but held Bama to 3 field goals and a td in the 2nd half. Had the Vols offense not been shutout, and kept the ball away from Bama's offense, I really think the game comes down to a lot closer outcome

well allvol,

I don't appreciate you putting the whole game on the freshman wide recievers. If you watched the game and know anything about football it was clearly a defensive problem. I think the guys did what they needed to do. In the 4th quarter I hardly think you can fault freshmen for the loss. Thanks!!! Yours truly volmom.

ps I try not to post but this made me a little upset

while the defense played terrible and should take credit for a good chunk of the problems agains Bama, the offense didn't do it's part either. They should have eaten more clock to say the least. I thought the freshmen wrs played well. The offensive coaches lost this game in my opinion.
