Here are some things I'm personally looking forward to in the coming years, feel free to add on.

1) Going out and playing with confidence.
2) Being the unanimous favorite by football analysts, when discussing the upcoming weekend match-up with Florida. Not having to sit through all the reasons we aren't going to win on Saturday
3) No more "if we can just keep it close till the fourth quarter, maybe we can find a way to win." Going out and stepping on the gas and trying to distance ourselves from people, instead of just playing scared. I got so sick of the conservative mindset that we should just try to not beat ourselves and then grind it out on the ground and then punt the ball away, in order to protect a lead. Florida doesn't beat people in the fourth quarter, they beat people in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters.
4) Throttling people---I mean beating the absolute **** out of Alabama.
5) Having guys named to the All-American list on both sides of the ball on a regular basis
6) Beating Auburn for the first time since 1999
7) Beating LSU for the first time since 2005
8) Beating Florida for the first time since 2004
9) Ending our 2-game losing streak to Alabama
10) Winning a real bowl game. Not going to Florida to beat a middle of the pack Big-10 school.
11) Winning the SEC for the first time since 1998.
12) Winning all our non-conference games by a wide margin.
13) Stopping people on 3rd down when the game is on the line.
14) Seeing faster, stronger, tougher players on the field.
15) Seeing players in the right position to make plays---players who actually look like their coaches are putting them in a position to not get embarrassed.
16) Beating schools from the ACC not named Duke
17) Winning the recruiting wars for the nation's top players
18) No more multiple overtime games with Kentucky
19) No more seasons without a special teams touchdown
20) No more cringing when we punt, fearing that it's going to go 70 yards the other way for a score.

I like most of your points, but if you think we're going to be a unanimous pick to beat Florida with Meyer there or to be able to beat the crap out of Bama with Saban there, you're setting yourself up for big disappointments. I think we can and will beat those teams, but they have GREAT staffs as well. I'm as optimistic as anyone that this staff we have will bring us championships. But, they haven't done anything yet. And maybe there will be times that we should be favored to beat Florida, but we won't be unanimous. ESPN wouldn't have that.

It's a fresh start, with a new staff we get to hope again. We play both Bama and Florida on their fields with a new staff so if they win it's what we and everyone from a guy who never went to UT and makes 7 bucks an hour but loves the Vols all the way up to ESPN and other sports analysts on TV expected. But if, if we win sweeeeeeet!

We have hope of these things but I will reserve my opinion on everything until a few more seasons have been played on the field. He hasnt proved anything yet. I think he and his staff have great potential but people expecting us to win 9-10 games next year will be disappointed. I like the hire of Kiffen but having all the talent in the world certainly helps but doesnt always equal sucesss. I hope the best for his staff and am not by any means a fulmerite but people are acting like he is the 2nd coming of christ and we are still 8 months from playing a down of football.

I like the way I said it better.

23) Actually being able to listen to the post game press conference without vomiting or punching my steering wheel while sitting in stadium traffic.

24) No more cussing Fulmer and his staff for being out coached in every aspect of the game.

25) No more Phil Fulmer show hearing excuses and "working like heck to get better"

#20 needs to include kick-offs also!

Yes, the overhaul of ST will be a more than welcome site. I don't think Fulmer knew that ST existed, he just knew he had to put some people out there so he wouldn't get penalized for too few people on the field.

#26 - Mauling people with our run game.
#27 - Stopping the run and getting a pass rush with our down 4 against the better teams on our schedule (I'm not really expecting this next year... maybe in 2-3 years).

Honestly, I look forward, hopefully, to being able to talk some s*** with fans of other teams when they try to get uppity.

#30 Seeing the team play with heart and not quitting in the 4th quarter would be nice.
#31 Playing to win, no more playing not to loose.

I am just glad that there are finally things to look forward to between now and September and not the same ole crap. There are so many unknowns, it is really exciting. Who is going to be the QB. Who is going to be the starting RB, WR's, etc,.... We have NSD coming up in about a week and then we can start looking to spring practice, the O&W game, summer camp, then football season. Man that's exciting!

32. Thinking we actually might hold on 3rd and long.
33. Thinking our O-Line might just maul somebody.
34. Thinking our D-Line could sack the other teams QB.
35. Thinking our receivers might get some separation and not get dominated by the other teams secondary.
36. Thinking I have no idea what the next play will be from our offense.
37. Thinking we could at least break even on Special Teams.
38. Thinking that if we say the Maxims, we will mean what we say.
39. Thinking Saban and Meyer are at least a little concerned about playing TN.

I don't know, if FL comes to Knoxville w/ an inexperienced, first year starter at QB (post Tebow) and UT is experienced, I could see all the pundits picking UT for that game. He didn't say every year on that point did he?

yeah, I didn't say I expected us to manhandle UF & Bama every year----but everyone has their off days and I'm looking forward to taking advantage of someone else's off days & not being the team that gets taken advantage of.

a 30-10 win over Alabama is coming. maybe not in '09/'10, but it's coming. if Utah can beat up Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, then USC East can do it in October or better yet in the SEC championship game.

thanks for all the additions, it was very pleasant to wake up and see how much the list has grown.
