Vols fans better get some. This is not going away anytime soon, unless UT settles the case and fires Butch Jones. Otherwise, plan on hearing about this for the next few years.

You are right. Not going away quick. But it will go away.
Clay Travis had a pretty good breakdown on this whole thing. Said that two pending trials, Jones and Williams are this Summer. One in June and another in July. UT has nothing to do with these cases, however the outcome could have some bearing on the civil case.

He also said UT so far has declined to settle. Based on that and based on Hart and Jones statements, I think the skin is thick.

As for us, the common fans. It really doesn't matter how thick or thin our skins are. It won't affect what happens one iota.

Fire Butch for what, exactly?

Not saying they should. Just saying that is the only way this isn't drug out for years. What Butch said to Trae will not come out in the rape trials this summer. The civil case is unlikely to go to trial for years. IF the university believes it will come out that Butch did say what is alleged, they will fire him and possibly settle the case. Otherwise plan on hearing every announcer mention it at some time during each game this next year.

Sometimes you gotta dance with the tiger. I've got scratch marks on my back from 30 years in the Vol rooting business.

If the CBJ and Bowles side of this mess comes down to his word vs his word, how can they prove who's right?

Had the misfortune of the timing of all this coincide with a meeting that involved some LSU, OSU, and Texas fans. I shrugged it off with a canned answer: blown out of proportion money grab and the facts will come out. Tennessee will be vindicated. I'm not sweating it.

I hope I'm right.

Stuff em. We've been kicked in the teeth for the last several years, Football, basketball, Baseball, Lady's Basketball, you name it.
If you're a Volunteer sports fan and you don't have thick skin at this point, yeah well I don't know what to tell ya.

GBO

Considering Bowles story has already changed big time from initial transcript I think I will side with Coach Jones. GBO!

As soon as Johnson and Williams are found NOT GUILTY of rape 75% of the air goes out of the balloon in the civil case. And the media is already beating this story to death. Everybody will get tired of hearing it and will tune it out. The media then moves on to lying about something else. They can't hold the interest of the people very long.

I want the Vols football team to recover and do well following this situation. I want all of this to be just a bunch of nonsense and lies. I want it all in the past, dismissed as inconsequential stupidity.

But more than any of that, I want justice to be done IF women were taken advantage of, raped, hurt or assaulted. I want anyone involved in the actions or any kind of cover up to be shown the door and kicked on the way out with punishment on top. There is little worse than taking advantage of people who have less than you-less money, less power, less physical strength, less emotional strength, less social standing, less people fighting for them-whatever the case.

I certainly don't know what happened. But if it is found that some or all of these allegations are true. Then the parties responsible should be held accountable. And the parties responsible for holding accountable said culprits, should likewise be held accountable. If any kind of punishment befalls Tennessee athletics because of this, I will say well worth it if it stops sexual assaults, rapes and mistreatment of even one woman.

I agree with you on that. And also (something you left out) if this is a bunch of nonsense and lies I want the accusers and their lawyers to be thrown in prison for the rest of their lives. Just so they can learn first hand what real rape is. And add the media to that also.
