...and mailed it in.

I actually felt a little sorry for ol' Phil tonight. From my perspective, we have about 4 players who really care. The rest of them are showing little or no fight.....and yes that includes the great Gerald Jones. He was no doubt brought here to be a leader, and has not gotten it done.

I want to publically thank Eric Berry, Robert Ayers, Dan Williams, and yes, Nick Stephens. These are the only guys I see giving all that they have on every play; even their mistakes are not because lack of effort.

Creer and Rogan showed no remorse or even concern when they fumbled. What I mean by that was that they were only half way playing hard to begin with. We have no discipline and no mental focus. We do not handle adversity well. One bad thing happens, and we fold up camp and get ready for home.

The fact that we need a coaching change has been over-stated. But what we need most of all is an entirely new mindset. We are walking around on the football field like a bunch of whipped puppies with our tails between our legs, and it is a sad spectacle to behold.

Someone needs to jerk about half of these guys up, remind them that they are playing football at the freakin' UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, and have enough PRIDE about them to straighten up and strap em' on!!!! This ain't Kansas anymore, Dorothy, this is the SEC and you are a TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER. Now freakin' act like it!!!!

Whomever can fix this mess is well worth the money...

I'm sorry...I guess the days of actually taking some pride in who you are and what you represent is over. I hope the rest of the fan base isn't as apathetic as you are......your attitude is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

lol. look i'm tired of hearing all this a/b were the university of tennessee, we deserve better blah, blah. I still wear my UT orange to school, okay. I never said anything a/b not playing w/ pride, but look, these guys were 8-9 years old during our NC. They couldn't care less a/b ten years ago. We aren't the same. I just think dat its ridiculous that we are ripping players b/c we fans think we deserve better. Also, I'm not the one out there coaching or playing, how am i part of the da problem...

It shouldn't matter how long it has been since a championship was won. You should take enough pride in representing yourself and your family that you wouldn't tank it for the world to see.

We need to play with more pride, and yes, even still, a sense of urgency. Instead, it appears we are doing nothing more than going thru the motions. Unless things change, I guess the only NC Tennessee is going to win will come via Playstation.

As if UT was only ever good in the 90s. Check an all-time wins list and you might find more to take pride in.

Okay UT is a very proud football program, yes. Should the players play w/ more pride? idk i'm not in da locker room. Did I expect a better team this year? definetly. Look i'm saying that we UT fans shouldn't expect great teams year in and year out just b/c of the past. That's not fair to the players. We should expect great based on the coaching, players, etc.

i thought Foster played hard today. He did a pretty good job considering how bad the OL is.

I think I've seen more 'Life" at a funeral home. We may stand a chance in the OVC but in the SEC we're a joke right now.

Absolutely......it is a tradition of football excellence that goes back farther than any of us can remember.

When I played ball, it didn't matter if we were defending champions or had never won a game. You take the field and give it your all, or I have little time for you. I was fortunate enough to have that engrained in me by my high school football coach. Because people can take a lot of things from you, but they can never take away your pride, heart, or determination unless you let them.

How many times would you let someone continually just smack you in the face before you did something about it?

I agree. They could care less about 10 yrs ago, matter of fact they could care less about playing ball now....other than a small handful of players.

Foster played harder today than I have seen all season.

However, I got a little giggle out of him consoling Creer after the fumble. My wife looked at me and said Foster must have been saying, " It's alright, kid, I fumble all the time and they keep putting me back in. It's no big deal really."

I didn't see hardesty tonight. Did I miss something? injury????? oh yea Fumblin Foster dosn't deserve the UT rushing record.

yeah...that is a bit confusing. Hardesty is named a permanent team captain but doesn't get a carry. Wow, this offensive coaching staff is fantastic.....

He was not listed on the injury report in today's Tennessean.

I agree, we seem to be getting players that dont seem to care about winning and only care about getting on to the nfl. we throw in the towel and dont put up the effort when we get behind, except for a few guys. We play the same conservative gameset when we're behing by 21 that we do when we begin a game. No urgency or fire, and the fan base sees it. Theres absolutely no way for the fan base to get fired up when the players lay an egg week after week on offense. Tonight we couldnt move the ball on a troop of girl scouts. On numerous plays you could see lineman that blocked no one and others got through. I dont know if its the scheme or just the inability of them to read the defense and pick up who they need to but lineplay is the source of 90% of our problems. I'll give our defense some credit, they played well but they were on the field way too long thanks to our inept offense. The team looks like they just dont think we can win and thats the problem of the staff. Throughout the whole season Ive seen that we do not seem to make any adjustments at halftime and come out and just do the same thing that got us behind in the first half and run right into the strength of whatever defense we're playing. Teams can load up the box and force our offense to just fold like a house of cards with no threat to stretch the field. I think the only way to get the apathy out is a change of coaching. We need an offensive minded coach that canright the ship on that side of the ball and put points on the board regardless of how the defense preforms. We need to get away from the conservative style that has led to what looks like will be two losing seasons out of four. The players dont look like theyre having fun and that shows up in their preformance. This season is a bust and we must look to the future and how to get UT back to competing at a respecable level. Thats just my two cents, let me know what yall think.

don't entirely agree with u, everybody reacts to things differently.......some guys show emotion, some dont'.........but overall, I do agree that they look like a bunch of zombies out there..........

along those lines, I was at the Volwalk be4 the Alabama game, and noticed alot of the guys looked apathetic, and alot of them looked scared.........first time I"ve ever seen FEAR in the eyes of our football players......I agree that the overall mindset of the team is not right.....
