"These guys want to win so bad," defensive coordinator Monte Kiffins said.

Someone posted this yesterday from a Tampa article on Monte. Good read though...They are extremely hungry!!:furious3:

What if dot com has Fla scoring 49 points on us, and it's that hunger and Monte's coaching that tells me that won't happen. All we need is some offense. Which is what we didn't have last year that cost us at least 3 games.

I am afraid to say it but I don't think Crompton will EVER get it. Hope he is getting a degree in something that will pay because it won't be the NFL.

If we had just a DECENT offense, we would have easily been 9-3. Maybe even 10-2 in my opinion.

We've all seen it before, the Swamp script. Where the Gators sensationalize any mistake the Vols make by taunting and runnin their mouth supported by a homer leinient officials staff that has a huge effect on their performance and the Vols. Thats what I worry about more than a QB who saves his worst play for gameday, or a defense that has forgotten how to fundamentally tackle, or an o-line that could'nt push a salesman out the front door. I'm hoping our new coaching staff is aware of this script, and are prepared to deal with it.

I think we're all going to see an entirely new attitude than what we've been used to seeing on the field. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The vast majority of college players are in the same boat. He can still be a decent college player.

The gator game from '07 is on CSS for the millionth time in the past week. Are they intentionally trying to piss off the Volunteer faithful right before the new season begins?

Maybe so and I hope our boys are watching it. I want them as mad as we can get them before they go to the swamp.

I am SURE they are also not forgetting special team play. The past years have been the WORST I have ever seen. I can recall just one blocked punt, but more touchdowns scored after a punt or kick off.

I think the coaching staff will have the players and fans energized more than we have seen in a while and will end up winning some games not expected to win. We have been lacking that for a while now. I hated seeing them come out fired up for one game and the next game wondering where the team from the last week was.

Well if it's on the field difference you're looking for, if a Tennessee CB is lined up 5 yards off an opposing WR, then that's 15 less than we are used to in those situations.

I am excited to know that I will see some new coaches on the sideline this year. I have grown so weary of CPF and his crew of incompetents showing their usual unpreparedness for the teams (top ten) that they played each year.

"No UT players have been arrested since Kiffin was named head coach at the end of last season."

I love that they are hungry to win but this ^^ is the part of the article that pleases me the most.

lg's best post ever.

I was trying to quote the guy above me that said that all he cared about was the no arrests thing, and it kept screwing up the quote-reply function.

But as I've been called out on it, I'll posit this: WTF?
