Believe it or not after reading volnation there is still support for butch jones. This comes to show that the players are bought in to the process and are still pushing through the season. Unfortunately vol fans think they play on the team, and think everything revolves are the fans and what the fans think. This football team is nothing but boys busting their azz all their life to play college football. Those of you talking about not coming to games is ridiculous. These players are the ones going through this time not you. You do not play for this team or are in any part of this football program In any shape or form. Not supporting this team is the dumbest thing I heard bc you don't like the coaches staff. I don't see how any player would want to come play for our idiotic redneck fans. I will be supporting the vols through thick and thin. Go vols

There was about this much support left for Dooley in his last year. It's over. And the players can sense it. That's why we saw the lack of effort last night

He has another year of support from me. Many have said all along it was 2016 for him or bust. If we finish below 8 wins next year and he stays around after that my wallet may close.

I don't know what lack of effort you're talking about.. I was at the game right behind the sideline. I saw players showing passion on the field and on the sideline trying to get the fans loud and into the game.

Well apparently this happened.

With 3 min left in the game an angry middle aged Vol ran down to row 1, threw his orange gear at the team & said "you can have this ****!"

we were one or two plays from winning. The punt return, the missed field goal, the PW fumble. Given the lack of our OL, that's good. Should we play the freshmen on the OL now?

I support the team, the players, but the coaches aren't doing this team, the university or its fans justice. They're getting paid to do a job that they are failing at.

There's something seriously wrong over there. Many said when the Debord hire was made that it would be a failure, and they've been proven right.

Folks, I think we really do need to pull it together. Heavy criticism of Jones and his staff is warranted. I have added my limited share to the fray. But starting threads about rumored locker room scuffles and unsubstantiated accusations of Jones' treatment of players is simply ridiculous. And, yes, I do believe players, prospective players, and their families see these things. We're starting to remind me of Alabubba fans when they ripped that poor kicker for missing a field goal last year. It's pretty embarrassing.

Not really dogging our fanbase as a whole. Just noticing the ignorant ones seem to be the loudest. Our realistic, rational fans need to step up and get the craziness toned down. Let's look at some facts:

Barring a scandal, Butch isn't going anywhere for now.

Either the team was overhyped in the offseason or has underachieved during the season. I think it's a combination of both.

The coaches deserve more than their fair share of criticism. Poor play calling, ineffective use of player talent, poor in-game adjustments, predictability, etc.

However, we have been very limited because of injuries and depth.

If we're rational about this, these losses were heartbreaking, but shouldn't have been completely unexpected. Anyone screaming to fire Butch or the OC or DC right now are just not looking at reality. :twocents:

Do you think the coaches lost yesterday's game?

We lost to a team on a 3 game skid and a coach that has yet to win a road conference game til last night.

That's where we are.

Kicking out former players, banning media, making sure that people who work in the football program don't listen to knoxville sports radio, giving former players bad seats during games. Now tell me again about barring scandal??

According to you, we're non-essential, so obviously the program doesn't need our support or hard earned dollars. Great arguement.

Time for you and the rest of the shills to face reality that it is over after losing to a terrible Arkansas team!

Not really sure how any of the things you listed would be considered scandalous. I'm not in the program and don't have any "sources." But, again, trying to embellish something like being more restrictive with the media, or where former players FREE seats are, as scandals seems like you're really reaching.

Not trying to argue with you, just trying to keep things rational.

The coaches coached a better game last night as far as not coaching skeered. I see why we are not passing as much with Dobbs' inaccuracies and the WRs not catching the ball.

We need better Oline play and better D on 3rd and long and better DB and LB play.

Special teams look good except for Medley being inconsistent.

I do think there is still a chance for this team to get where they want to be if the coaches can do a better job of getting them coached up.

My hope is that things will turn around because I love the VOLS and Coach Jones but my patience is running very thin.

Losing to Florida was just Hot Garbage and there are no excuses for that or for OK. The coaches blew it.

I do believe that the coaches heard us on coaching skeered because we saw more aggressive play calling last night. Our guys just did not make the plays when needed. The coaches had us in position to win.
