The WRASSLIN’ Thread

Doing the Cena heel turn at a B level PPV to appease The Rock's ego instead of doing the right thing and waiting till last night is going to go do down as a massive storyline blunder in WWE history. The impact of him doing it during the match to win #17 would have been a much better story

It's starting to feel like his run in AEW. People got tired of his shtick after about 3 years. The thing with Cody is, he doesn't read the tea leaves. He doesn't change and adapt his character like a Cena, Orton, Rollins, Jericho. The great ones find a way to repackage their character while keeping their base characteristics.
It’s crazy to think fans were literally throwing his weight belt back at him in AEW 4-5 months before he returned to WWE completely over.

If they ever wanted to strap a rocket to him, now would be the time. He set up at least three feuds in that promo: AJ, Logan Paul, and Joe Hendry.
You could take it even further and give him programs with Penta and Fenix. Anybody new/newish or anyone that isn’t around all the time.

I’m sure some of that was real emotions, but if not, he did a great job at blurring the lines.
