... would be to have a fourth head coach in five years.

What our program needs more than anything is stability. When a coach comes into the living room of a highly touted recruit, the family looking back at him needs to have a reasonable confidence that that coach will be there to keep the promises he's making.

We may idolize and envy these kids, but we can't forget that they are indeed kids. Many of them are being asked to go hundreds or even a thousand miles from their homes and anyone or anything they've ever known. That's not an easy sell if your coach is a bad season away from the unemployment line.

Coach Fulmer's lack of job security no doubt damaged recruiting dating back 5-6 years. The Kiffin fiasco definitely hurt. If kids are afraid Coach Dooley will be gone in a year or two, they'll look elsewhere.

We need a united front showing these kids that under reasonable circumstances we have a reliable and structured program that will help them play football at the highest level, succeed in the classroom and build the foundation that will help them to a prosperous life.

I guess what I'm saying is that VolNation needs more fans and fewer FANatics. Micigan, USC, Alabama, Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Nebraska...they've all had down periods. They bounced back. So will we.

Sorry Dimera23, but you are permanently banned from Volnation for being 100% correct. :)
