On Fox News channel with the primary starting at 9:00, and the undercard starting at 7:00. I'm somewhat torn on this one. On one hand, I don't think it will be any where as entertaining as the others without Trump. On the other hand, it might be kind of nice to hear the other candidates speak on actual issues without the back and forth attacks with Trump.

Key questions:

  • Does Cruz take Trump's place as the person most being attacked tonight?
  • Does Rubio take advantage and cut into the Trump/Cruz leads?
  • Do Christie, Paul or Kasich shine tonight with more time for each candidate to state their positions?
  • Does Jeb say anything of any significance?
  • Does Carson stay awake?

Trump will still take center stage, even if he isn't there in person. They are already talking about him two questions in to the undercard debate. Part of being the front runner I guess. Jeb Bush is like a zombie during debates, I think he is effectively out of the race. Also, how is Rick Santorum still a presence in the party?

1. Probably
2. Doubtful
3. Christie will say federal prosecutor more and we'll see more of Paul's rug
4. Jeb will not.
5. He should just walk away

That's actually a bit surprising. I could possibly see Cruz making a few comments about Trump's absence tonight as he tries to cut into his lead, but other than that it would be foolish for the candidates to bring him up tonight and "give him a voice" at the debate.

Gramps, I'll say it in public and on the first page so everyone can see it.

I was wrong and you were right.

I figured ego would have been a huge factor in Trump getting on stage. I figured wrong.

This is where Rubio needs to stand out above the pack. He needs to separate himself from Kasich, Jeb, and Christie in NH.

Rand is officially in "gives no f***s" mode. I hope he goes after Cruz mercilessly.

Carson... I hope he drank his coffee this time.

Jeb might benefit from the lack of Trump, but In afraid the damage is done at this point.

The Christie surge never happened. Could be a good VP, though. He seems more interested in attacking the Dems than touting his record.

Kasich should be business as usual. If he keeps it up he can take 2nd in NH.

Cruz will probably be attacked by the other two senators for his attempts to play two sides of every issue, but it shouldn't hurt him in Iowa.

That may be premature GV. Trump is subject to show up in the middle of the debate and I will be telling you I was wrong. He is unpredictable. IMO, Trump is showing Fox and the party he is in charge.

Who is he? I didn't even know anyone by that name was running.

Former governor of VA who has been polling in the negatives for months. I think one of the pollsters randomly called his house to give him one percent in one of the polls.

You just missed Fiorina lighting up Hillary.

She's got some teeth, I'll give her that.

First undercard debate I've watched.

Well you talked me into it. I just flipped on in time to see Santorum rambling on.

I legitimately did not know this person even existed.

I guess I should also add that Trump's event will also start at 9:00 tonight and will be on CBSN. Rumor has it that Huckabee plans to make an appearance after the undercard debate.

How does one poll in the negatives?

Fiorina is the best of the undercard. I have a feeling she's positioning herself for another run at the Senate or as the Cabinet. She knows she can't win here, but the Senate depending on location is a possibility.

CNN is going to be showing all or part of it as a "live news event". MSNBC will probably do the same.

I think I read earlier CSPAN was carrying the entire event

I noticed you left out a VP nod in your list. Do you not think she would make a good VP candidate?

I had heard CNN might broadcast it as well. That would be a major news headline if Trump's event actually got more overall viewership than the debate.
