Does Tennessee have any great players this year. Berry comes close. What about the rest of the guys. Here we thought Hefney was great last year in our eyes, and he may not make an NFL team. Foster has pretty good rushing numbers but having seen great Tennesee backs in the past, he's not even in the top ten. Other words, we can't rely on him to win the big games for us. An unproven quarterback who is struggling in practice. A new offensive coordinator, will his style of coaching work in the tough defensive SEC league, especially with unproven players. Our w/r are unproven. I am all Vol, but I have true concerns about this year, especially several other teams seem to have superstars. We can only hope.

no one thought Hefney was great during the season last year. Plus we have RW. We'll be fine.

An unproven quarterback who is struggling in practice.

Fulmer said today, this has been his best week of practice for Jonathan. Only INT all week was on a 2 point conversion attempt.

He prolly averaged 2 a practice in the spring.

It never fails. In the Spring hope springs eternal and in the Summer everybody gets paranoid as to whether we'll be able to record a single first down.

Unproven WR's? That's funny. Because we return all of our WR's and the top three combine for about 2,200+ yards.

I am concerned every year and this is no exception. However, no matter how good the media says you are *cough* GA*cough* or how big of a superstar you have *ahem* FL the games still have to be played out.

I'm not much of a bragger (especially preseason) so the fact that we may not be expected to be at the top of the heap in the east when it's all said and done doesn't effect my conversations with opposing fans. Greatness is so much sweeter when it's not expected (refer to '98).

The coaches and players are set for this season and I have no doubt that if each and every one of them give their all for Tennessee each and every play we will have a good chance at a successful season and with a little luck maybe a special one.

Gloom and doom prevails. I think I'm not gonna watch the football season this year. I hate bad news... :cray:

Personally, I think we have quite a few players that we could look back on and consider great, including E Berry, D Morley, R McCoy, and possibly R Ayers, and on offense, G Jones, A Parker & J McNeil.

Thing is, if our season tanks, most won't look back on any of these guys are consider them to be "great." The legend of the player often seems to grow with the success of the team... which I suppose is fair.
