It ended before the Alabama game.

Phil came out in the paper, certainly with purpose, and declared that he and Sanders were discussing RS' move off the field and up to the box. Fine and dandy.

Uh, guess not. RS comes along the next day, in the papers, and calls Phil, in no short order, a liar.

"We haven't talked about that" to quote.

Here we have the breaking point, "the moment" when friendships break down, loyalties fall apart and irreperable damage occurs.

Sanders, if he had desired or been savvy enough to call a better play for himself, could have easily gone along with the corporate line. To wit:

"Coach Fulmer and are discussing this, outcome uncertain at this point".

But no, he chose to contradict his Commander In Chief which he has every right to do...and every reason to expect that the ultimate result of doing so will be his dismissal. :focus:

Maybe the tide was in before the Tide and Sanders felt he had nothing to lose so he vented?

Either way, he's history and when it is all over, we can remember him with fond memories.

Yeah, right.
