The ultimatum delivered?

the only insight i can give is that theres no way Hamilton would tell Fulmer to resign at the end of the season...not yet.

Why is that? Is he too much of a Fulmer lackey?

Even he must be disturbed by this repetitive lack of potential.

Still, your scenario seems more likely given the recent Fulmer donation. Hat was right, a great move buying himself a seat at the table.

Mike Hamilton is the largest Fulmer lackey in the history of lackeys...there very good friends and Hamilton has repeatedly said he stands behind Fulmer no matter what. I think Fulmer is here until he wants to leave.

I can't speak for the source it could be bs. But fulmer is in hot water and they are starting to turn up the temperature. He probably has to go at least 8-1 the rest of the year. It won't happen.

Loser With Socks is a tounge in cheek blog. Might turn out true, but doubt it.

I don't like Fulmer as our coach anymore but if Hamilton did give this ultimatum what would he have to coach for if he lost one game?

Doesn't sound smart to me. Hamilton isn't an idiot.

You think Hamilton will take the fall for Fulmer too? Fulmer is not bigger than the program, and at the rate we're going, Hamilton's not pulling the trigger might terminate his gig too.

Fulmer went to bat for Hamilton when he was up for the job of AD. Am I right, I think I heard that somewhere.

Let's put it this way. I'd like to call Hamilton an idiot bc he's said he stands behind Fulmer, however what are the chances he comes out and says Fulmer is on the hotseat during the middle of the season. Plus I don't want to call Hamilton an idiot bc he made a great bball hire. So no one really knows what is going to happen. It's all speculation. Hamilton isn't showing his cards. I just know that Hamilton has a lot of loyalty to Fulmer and their good friends. So do I think Hamilton will take the fall for Fulmer? possibly

If that is the case, it will be hard for the ad to fire him. The university will find it hard to fire him, but even harder to keep him. Let's face it, if you are unhappy the boosters are unhappy. The ad is very good, look at the homerun he found in Pearle. I am an avid gator and I have the upmost respect Pearl. He is a very good basketball coach and he has a lot of energy. I think both our universities are doing well. I just think with Tenn. that a football change is due. If it were me, I would go after Tedford. I like his style. On a side note, it just pisses off Kentucky that we have such good basketball programs and they were stuck at the alter with a drunk. Love it!

you're right. However, Hamilton has suggested the coach has to win an SEC title every 10 years. The start of this season could lower it to every nine years.

on a side note, I wouldn't want Grobe or Tedford

Maybe Fulmer will see the writing on the wall and make this easy on everybody. Supposedly he's said that he doesn't want to coach into his late 60s anyway, but that he badly wants to go win another SEC championship first. Maybe watching Urban Meyer hand him the worst loss of his career with a team of freshman and sophomores will make him realize that it isn't going to happen anytime soon, and he'll decide to go ahead and step down gracefully without drawing this whole thing out.

(Maybe Santa Claus will bring me a new Maserati this year, too.)

With the successful hire of Bruce Pearl I think Hamilton has earned some leverage. Hiring Raleigh to coach the baseball team looks very good to every one so far, giving him even more leverage. He can axe Fulmer w/out any problems.

this could also mean that he could keep Fulmer without any problems using that leverage

At Florida we felt we had our Fulmer in Zook. Let me explain. Zook was a great recruiter but did not trust his coaches. He would have them scale back thier coaching. It was not until the very end, especially the FSU game when he was going to be let go did he let the coaches coach the game the way they wanted to. He would call a conservative game. He coached not to lose instead of coaching to win. I feel Fulmer is in that mode now. imo

Be sure to spell his name right.

And we're glad you aren't picking coaches

Absolutely no chance unless he is announcing CPF is gone. No good AD would do that.

Now Urban Meyer is a coach that coaches to win. He is a younger Spurrier in my opinion. His offenses are unbelievable. I remember him coaching the bowl game when he was at Utah. I knew in a couple of years when he had his players that it would be something special.

The issue right now is that Hamilton is not thinking about firing Fulmer. You might as well just enjoy the season and wait and see how it finishes.
