I hate to even waste a thread on this, but I'm really mad about this article. I'm starting to believe that Adams is the head Interloper Troll. It's one thing to be sarcastic and funny, or informative, but totally crossing the line to completely insult the traditions at Tennessee........

I wish there was some way to start a petition or something against this article. I'll see what everybody else thinks, it's on govols.......

We also have something USC doesn't that is called the opportunity to play in a real conference, the opportunity to play in a stadium that is full at kickoff and stays that way. I know this idiot was taking underhanded shots at UT, but really when it comes to tradition any SEC school certainly doesn't take a back seat to the pac10.

That sounded totally tongue in cheek to me with a distinct zing at Lane Kiffin saying he isn't original and is just trying to become USC II...

Yeah, I thought the sarcasm went way too far, by basically taking a big shot at CLK.....I mean, why shouldn't he have a mentor?
Pretty much every great young coach has a mentor, that they learned from....Plus, it really makes fun of TN, almost the way gators and Bammers would do.......:crazy:

You're right, but I just don't get too worked up over what Adams has to say. He's not as brilliant of a writer as he thinks he is.

Yeah........I think he was trying to be funny.....I don't think he realized that it's not funny at all......I think that was the worst article I've ever read at KNS

Adams is a hater, be it real or imagined. He mainly speeks what ever will create the most readership. What he prints is always taken with a grain of salt.

What a Cleveland steamer. Its like he wrote this article on his blackberry in the pisser after getting drunk at a VASF function and kicking this around with Griff and Strange.

Am I the only one not getting what all of the fuss and anger is about re: this article? :ermm:

I mean, it was sort of goofy I suppose and something that normally appears in late July/early August before any real football news is going on. But I didn't see anything that just makes me want to go out and burn down Knoxville.

alright guys look, this is how sports writers operate when there isn't any real news to talk about...especially in early august, so they go and write a, for lack of a better word, article that makes ppl talk...sometimes it can be a clever insight into the football season ahead, or a recap of a MLB that for some reason was played at 2pm on a weekday even though nobody would ever be able to see it...and sometimes it is a incredible waste of cyberspace like this one is...

the only reason john adams, and other sports writers, do things like this is to get ppl like us talking about how stupid it is, please for the love of god...everybody resist the urge to write a post that rivals the length of the article at 1:30 in the morning :whistling:

hell, we do this they might be forced to do some real reporting and write coherent articles that are actually entertaining and informative :salute:
