Rain Man was a great movie at the time but it doesn't really matter anymore. A movie stays relevant by either being rewatchable or by seeing its influence in future film, and Rain Man doesn't really have either going for it.

Respectfully, I disagree. Hoffman was incredible, and I thoroughly enjoyed re- watching the film last year with my boys.
