The two states with the worst drivers ARE....

Tennessee drivers are god-awful, I am sure they could give Georgia and Florida a run for the title

When I forst moved to Cookeville, I remember thinking Kingston pike traffic was better than this, but I'm used to it now. It's all relative, vut I agree with Florida drivers. Atlanta is insane.

Have any of you been to Iowa or Chicago? The roads in IA are so messed up, it's not even funny. There's no rhyme or reason to them. And Chicago people are sooo impatient.

You guys have obviously never driven in Alabama...

I pray for 3 hours every time before I leave the house.

I couldn't disagree more. I would rather have a logjam on I-40/75 than have to deal with I-285 in ATL on my commutes to work.

And the drivers here are no where near as bad in the logjams or on the city streets. Tennessee is heaven compared to some of the other places that I have seen that are worse.

I always assume people that constantly complain about Knoxville traffic have never driven around Atlanta or D.C.

The insurance rates in those two states have got to be ungodly.
In Florida it's terrible, but the rates in Georgia are pretty low.

I'm so used to driving in Atlanta that I barely notice it. Nobody that lives in or around Atlanta gets on the interstate from 7-9am or 5-7pm unless it's absolutely necessary.

The problem with 40-75 is that it's a 2 lane interstate in a lot of areas and the 18 wheelers get packed together and drive you nuts.

I HATE hitting rush hour in Atlanta when I'm travelling. I try to plan my trip around it. Do they still have the signs telling people to telecommute and carpool?

The whole key to Atlanta traffic is just don't go through there during rush hour.

I lived in Clinton IA and I don't remember anything unusual about the roads except most were boringly straight and flat. Chicago, while a definite challenge to drive in, doesn't compare to Atl. or DC as to the bad drivers. Impatient yes, but I see why when traffic gets so backed up every day.

And Fine Vol, I lived in OH for 10 years and those drivers are better than TN, who are better than FL. The worst drivers I've seen, and there is no close second place, is Puerto Rico, unbelievable. No turn signals, everyone drives over their ability, and change lanes on a whim right in front of you.

I see all this talk of INT 40 and nothing about 81? 40 is a dream compared to 81.
