You can't win'em all. We won more than anyone expected after bama. I will go on record as saying I am proud of what we have shown in the last 6 games.

Who is Jonathan Crompton? Who was Tee Martin?

Let's be Vol fans.

I am always proud to be a tennessee fan but it hurts to know that we had it and we gave it up...

Yes, we expected a bad season and am happy to be sec east champion... but am not content with that.. we could have had it...

You want the truth?

Not even Vandy or Kentucky could have sucked enough to choke the game away like we did. LSU had so many injuries and distractions. Starter QB out, starting safety out, #2 and most dynamic running back hurt during game, speedy running back hurt, #1 receiver hurt, best overall player hurt in Dorsey, and even the backup QB was hurt.

No excuse for losing that game other than complete and total suckage.

Glad toseethis post, I know, as anyone who played sports competitively how much it hurst to lose a game due to something you did or did not do...I am sure Ainge is inconsolable. The bama game still hurts, I will get over this ...about 5 minutes after they lay me to rest...but I still agree with your comments. GO VOLS lets win a bowl game and come out of this season with 10 wins, a good young defense, and look appealing to recruits who want to play Football in Tennessee! GO VOLS!

I could care less about a 10 win season - the SEC championship is all that matters - not some meaningless Bowl game against Wisconsin or Boston College. And we haven't had one in 10 years.

bassman, it's just the immediate agony. if you could've known 10 minutes after the bama game ended that we would run the table from there and lose to lsu by a touchdown in the SECCG after leading most of the game, you'dve thought: that sounds pretty cool. I almost guarantee it.

Nah - I'd rather not go to the SECCG and lose due to moronic play by our senior "leader" QB. Too much pain to go through. I'd take a 9-3 season without a berth to the SECCG if I knew we were going to blow the game like we did.

If that is how you really feel then I now understand how Fulmer still has so much support. Fulmer got his job because people wanted to get to the next level. Now (meaning the past few seasons) the Vols are slighly below the level they were at when Phil took over. Evidently the high expectations and demand for excellence just aren't as important as they once were to UTK fans.

Our D was playing lights out. Why on earth do you even throw that pass that Zenon picked for 6?
Just punt the football and put the game on your D.

I am really proud of this team the way they bounced back this year. They showed true heart.
Next year the SEC had better watch out for the VOLS.

A ten win season is no longer impressive. 10 out of 14 isn't that great.

you jumped the gun on my post. I do not write off seasons to satisfaction over 9-4. I am picking up my optimism as of the day we lost to bama..and then looking forward. what else can you do as a fan? there are highs and lows. if you expect championships every year and misunderstand the obligatory droughts, you are naive.

Not really - LSU handed us the game on a silver platter - but we decided to give it back to them. Not sure how a 15 yard INT run makes them better. They had like 7-8 major contributors injured. There is no reason we should have lost that game - Ainge flat out choked.

please. had we known there was no gold at the end of the rainbow, we would have settled for a new staff then and started anew next season.

Instead, we gave the admin enough reason to put out an extension for CPF that wasn't warranted and can't now be overturned any time soon. MH was itching for a reason to avoid firing CPF and our string of pitiful looking wins (save a couple) gave it to him. Now Hamilton is under no pressure to move this program forward and he couldn't be happier.

DH and I are very disappointed with this lose but we'll support our VOLS regardless...

I was glad we made it to the SECG, but we should have won that game by 10 points.

There has been no leader on offense all year.

You notice after the INT's that Eric is all by himself on the bench. Where's the love? The team treats him like he has Aids.

those who demand perfection are often swallowed up by angst. it's sports, man. if you don't like it, choose another team to root for. oh and by the way, you'll find plenty to complain about once you do.

Right again, I live in Alabama, I deal with the harsh reality of the BAMA loss every... single... day... Words cannot express the hatred I have fr all things Crimson. After that loss, I was willing to write CPF off for dead, even pull the trigger myself, fut it's not going to happen. Additionally, I have found myself proud that this team has fought back against the adversity of this year. I have always believed that Ainge was a weak link, and now... he is gone... The defense will be much improved next year, hell... it has improved 100 fold this year. Offense? I have to believe Crmpton will be a much better athlete that Ainge. 3stars VS. 4 stars. Go Vols....

All year...I felt like our offense was fragile, might score or might lay an egg inside the 5. I was never confident until the ref raised his arms.

That was the theme all year for me, and it held up in the SEC Championship game.....this is a direct result of a QB that lacks the killer instinct, i.e. the Peyton factor. HOwever, next year if the Vols have an issue it will not be at QB....IMHO.

Totally Agree. And everyone better get ready for some more of the same.

It just seems to me that if you find yourself stuck in a drought, as you put it, you need to make the necessary changes to get to where you want to be instead of just sitting on your keister and waiting for something good to happen. IMO the Fulmer-UTK situation is coming to resemble the latter. As a UTK fan, with each passing season of this slop I feel like the program is chanied to a giant rock (named Phillip) that is preventing any forward momentum.
