I follow high school football and recruiting as closely as anyone that is not a college coach. I can tell you that after today's huge recruits that our coaches have pulled.... no one on these boards should say anything negative about our staff. What we are accomplishing right this minute on the recruiting trail is UNREAL! We get embarrassed on national television.....and the NEXT DAY we pull two of the finest defensive players in the United States. True fans that understand recruiting and can see the big picture know how bright our future is going to be! This staff is unbelievable....and I am excited and proud that we have them as Vols!

i am glad to see this too. Everyone here is scared of the fact that if we lose, we lose recruits. This is not the case! Kiffin and Co. are making these guys realize that they are the building blocks of creating something unstopable! Let's continue getting these recruits!!

Orgeron is a machine.....he is relentless and his talent when he gets in the living room of these kid's houses is baffling!

A whole season of bad might change a few minds, but one game usually doesn't mean a whole lot to a potential recruit.

I am very impressed that staff made some great adjustments in the 2nd half. Kiffin had to shut down the passing game due to our liability at QB and still found a way to put us in position to win the game. He made the call and challenged the offense to execute to win the game. Monte kept UCLA out of the endzone even though we kept giving them great field position.

I can not wait for Kiffin to get his players here. I just hope that we can avoid a loosing season this year since we are one of two teams in the NCAA to still hold that record. But if we do have a loosing season I have to credit it to the under achievement of last year's coaching staff and the condition in which they left this program.

I have been watching this board since last night...and reading all of the meaningless and silly posts about how ugly we looked and how bad Crompton is and how we got outcoached. None of it...none...means anything. We have the finest staff in America in Knoxville. We are getting players as we speak that were UNTOUCHABLE before Kiffin and Co. were hired. Untouchable. Most on here are so blinded by Crompton's 3 interceptions that they can't see we are sitting on a goldmine. That team we saw yesterday was not Lane's team. It was still mostly a leftover Fulmer product. Stop the negativity and stop the senseless comments about Crompton. It doesn't matter. When our staff finally assembles the product on the field that they are working on as I write this.....then Tennessee will be at heights we only have wished for.

Hey, some say it starts with the O-Line, some say QB, some say this, some say that.

But getting right down to it, it all starts with recruiting. And it sounds like a good start.

Getting back to 10 wins a season would be nice. Kiffen and staff keep getting this type quality recruits and we will be there very soon.

The recruiting news is bringing everybody back from the brink. Still don't like the lack of leadership at the qb position.

I keep seeing these stupid Crompton and Stephens posts. Just plain silly. While some on this forum are wasting time blaming Jonathan Crompton.....Lane, Ed, Monte and Co. are hot on the recruiting trail.

They still have to coach those on the Hill. Yesterday was not Kiffin's finest day. Everyone has days when they are outguessed. He had one yesterday.

Lane is a human being...he isn't perfect. However, as I said before, these stupid meaningless posts by either restless, uneducated, or fair weather fans blaming Crompton are asinine. The bottom line is ...today we pulled 3 major recruits that would have been untouchable under Fulmer. We have a goldmine in Knoxville.......and the rewards will be ours soon.

I support our coaching staff. My issue is mainly based on frustration because of our ex-coaches' four star qb, lol. He infuriates me with his complete grasp of the game. GO VOLS!

we still need 1 more qb, just seems like the last 2 years we have nothing from our qb no matter who it is.

Is there any news on us bringing in a big time qb recruit that could start NEXT year? I read about the 6'7 190 kid... anything else... Our recruiting class is already piling up, im pumped about it.

I mean Jesus, no one expected this staff to turn our program around in one season, let alone one game. Kiffin didn't exactly inherit the cupboard Fulmer did when he took over as coach and started his 90's run....

Bray?...Do not get your hopes up about him coming in on a white horse to save the UT program...He's a kid and it will take some time for him to learn the offense and most of all put on some weight...He plays SEC ball at that size he will get broken in half....But he is going to be a good one, maybe even a great one but its going to take time to find out...Be patient.

DOCTORLOOMIS your posts are great and you are very knowledgeable of the game... and I think it is very stupid how people come on these boards and bad mouth kids like Crompton it just shows stupidity!! and I do see the whole picture as far as the future goes with the recruits coming in, but that being said Kiffen was hired to win as many games as his team can.. and his coaching yesterday lost the game, I understand showing your support for crompton by standing by him even after he was the cause of 2 interceptions and one turn over wasn't all his fault but he was still involved with the play.. that was 3 straight turn overs with cromptons name on it. That could have been at least 9 points on the board even if we couldn't score TD's (if Lincoln held up)... But then we come out of half time crompton has time to settle down collect his thoughts, and then hits the UCLA player in stride for another turn over, Nothing against crompton but Kiffen should have put Nick in.. at least UCLA would have had something else to worry about besides the run until Nick screwed up.. Taking crompton out of the game would have not been anymore downgrading to crompton then taking the game out of his hands and running the ball the rest of the game.. that's bad coaching to me
