Yeah I saw that this morning, and then realized that preseason polls from anybody, no less, a Tennessean reporter, hold no merit.

UT is third every year it seems like.. it's always behind FLA n Ga.. every frickin year..

It is what it is.

I hope we can take that "no respect" attitude into CAL and deliver a beat down.

Its not unreasonable.....Georgia and Florida will most likely be better than us this year.....we can't mock common sense.

Not sure you can say Georgia will "most likely" be anything. It's not going to surprise me if they win 10 games and it also wouldn't surprise me at all if they had 2 losses before the end of September.

Common sense doesn't tell me that a team that lost to UK and Vandy will be a contender to win the East the very next year.

Nor that a team that lost almost every starter on defense as well as around half of the backups as well as their 4 year starting QB will be a shoe in to finish above us. The east is a real crap shoot this year. Actually, the whole SEC is a crap shoot.

I can see giving the national champs some respect. I'm not sold on a UGA team that likely wouldn't have gone to a bowl game if they'd not scheduled an obscene number of pushovers.

Yeah, but they aren't the NCs. They were last year. This isn't that team, though. That is why I wouldn't automatically give them the nod. I highly doubt UF will be considered a top 5 team in preseason basketball and there is good reason for that. It isn't disrespect. It's just common sense.

Ask Auburn and Virginia Tech how horrible Georgia was at the end of the year.

Georgia turned it on at the end. They had youth in some areas that needed to grow. It obviously grew. The problem is that, like UF, they lost a ton defensively and still have big questions on offense. No team in the SEC is without question this year.

Their non-conference schedule wasn't that bad...Western Kentucky is really weak, but they had UAB, Georgia Tech and Colorado. The Colorado series was probably pretty attractive when they put that deal together.

Compared to other teams in the conference, their non-conference slate was pretty tough.

UGA blowing out Auburn the week after losing to Kentucky was one of the more inexplicable turn of events in college football all year . . . but it's not like they were exactly a juggernaut at the end of the year. They looked horrible against Ga Tech and were very fortunate to get a little lucky and pull out a win.

They'd probably say the same thing Texas A & M would have said about UT in 2004. UGA improved. They also lost some good players to the NFL.

i have georgia winning the east this year. in my opinion they will be much improved.

Very plausible. Like I said earlier, I could see them winning 10 and it also wouldn't shock me to see them win 8.

I think if UGA wins than it is because some teams sleep on them. They will improve, as will we and USC. UF won't be as good. We may catch UF at the right time and turn around the UGA at UT luck.

well I hope so because Georgia owns us in Neyland

That is true. I just have a feeling that this is the year we turn it around against UGA at home, or at least win one at home against them.

Virginia Tech and Auburn=Teams exponentially better than Texas A&M.
