is by no means great at all. Most of the players are unproven, FR/Soph with no experience. The recruiting has not worked out. Bama, Florida, Georiga all have much better talent than we do. We cannot expect to win these games next year.

Our QB's have done nothing.
OL = fat and slow. We will have to rebuild from scratch.
WR's are Jones and Moore and that's it.
We are well stocked at Tight End and defensive back. We have some serviceable running backs. No great ones but good enough to win with.

D-Line is thin and in trouble if Dan Williams decides to leave.
LB's are inexperienced, if Rico leaves we have no proven LB's.

The cupboard is as bare as it has been since Majors had to rebuild the team many, many years ago. I expect we will play much better than last year with less talent, but it will take a while for Kiffin to recruit his type of players to UT.

On the bright side of that, think how good we can be in two to three years! Although FL and Bama start freshman and sophomores and it works out pretty well for them. Hopefully the new regime will bring in a new attitude and work ethic, which should help a great deal. Its hard to get guys to play any harder for you when they know their starting positions are on the line.

Less talent next year? What talent are we losing?

FYP

I'm also wondering... Do you work for Rivals, VolQuest, or have some other inside scoop? I'm just curious as the credentials you have that allow you to go ahead and declare recruiting a bust, remaining talent as diminished, and three games as already lost.

Did you ever stop to think that the guys who underperformed this year just weren't being prepared or motivated correctly? That they weren't being pushed to be their best? That maybe Kiffin will do that? Is it possible he can get more out of them than the former regime?

I don't think we really know how much talent we have until they get some quality coaching, something we have been lacking for awhile.

While I do think that we have some talent on our roster it still is not much compared to GA, Florida, etc. An easy way to gauge our talent level is to just look at our recent draft class compared to the rest of the SEC, they've been terrible. 2006 was decent, but those of you saying our talent level is through the roof, tell me who you see on this team as first day draft choices? I want to see the days of when UT was stacked with draft choices, not when a Jerod Mayo is a rare occurrence.

Who knows what talent we have on this team (with the exception of Berry). With the right coaching we may be surprised.:crossfingers:

If our offense could have moved the ball at all this year we would have had a decent year. Our Defense was 6th or 7th in the nation. IMO it has to be the BS offense that Clawsen brought in. The QB's did not fit his scheme and it was an embarresment all around. I mean our Offensive line was 3rd last year and I know Ainge threw the ball away a lot but our running game was not that bad last year. I seriously dont see how it can be explained any other way. They just did not buy into the system Clawsen was running and they never grasped the idea.
They went from plain ol Cutcliff x' and o's to Clawsens Mathmatical equation he came up with while attending an Ivy League School and playing Cricket.

With the right coaches we have plenty of talent at that school. Yeah 07 class was weak but the 06 class was strong. We just need a better system and more discipline. Kiffin will finish this recruiting class stong and we will have the talent. I just cant get over all the negative talk still coming from peoples mouths and the man has not even coached a game yet.

Robert Ayers and DeAngelo Willingham are two losses that hurt.

Demonte just because there are no other DTs on the roster

We'll see if Kiffin can bring in a Frosh and a JUCO DT. If that's the case... we'll see how big of a loss Bolden was. I honestly would think losing Dan Williams would be worse.

I think there are 3 maybe two JUCO DTs coming in. I think Demonte underachieved in nearly every game he played in but a 300 lb body on the DL is helpful.

Lane inherits 8 win talent. Barring something unforeseen, that's where they should finish next year. Anything less would be disappointing and anything more would be a pleasant surprise.

My point was that we are not losing tons of players like other years and we retain most skill players, not that that's a good thing in some instances.

Especially with the schedule UT has next year.
