If Hillary gets elected the Supreme Court will become the enforcer of the Liberal's will for decades to come.

The SCOTUS is a joke of what it should be. They've become embroiled in politics and forgotten it's about the law.

SCOTUS is in the worst shape of the branches...no way should almost every decision be 5-4

The three seats to be filled are reason enough to vote this year. Forget the candidates, whoever is elected will be gridlocked by congress. But they WILL decide who runs our courts for a long time.

IF? Hilary has had this election wrapped up since the beginning. First real female POTUS? I mean come on. The real people who run this country have made their choice. Another 8 years of us citizens getting screwed.

If Hillary is elected she won't live to see the end of her first term. Too many health problems.

the supreme court is basically the judicial wing of the DNC. when/if hillary is elected and she points another marxist/muslim to the court any freedoms, especially Christians' right for free speech is gone. there is no doubt, hillary will nominate a muslim on the court. her muslim advisor will make sure of that.

Wrong. Most decisions should be close. If they were all 9-0 they probably never would have made it to SCOTUS.
Nope. If they were 9-0 or 7-2 it would indicate they are apolitical. the argument that they are an apolitical body is as stupid as those that support KKKankles because she is a woman.

Great. That is called progress. We don't need a bunch of 80 year old conservatives who are out of touch with reality making decisions that will shape the country.

The justices really aren't there to interpret other people's views of reality and damn sure aren't there to "shape" the country.

Yes they are. The precedent was set in the 1800s with rulings on slavery. Since then the SCOTUS has made rulings that shape the country. They interpret the laws and their application, which in turn shapes the US.

No, that doesn't indicate that.

These cases often turn on the minutia and people regardless of political affiliation can disagree on the import of certain things.

BTW, roughly half of all SCOTUS decisions are unanimous.

So you believe they are apolitical?

Nope, I just believe that the criteria you proposed for determining "apoliticalness" is not useful.

I don't enjoy watching justices of any sort deciding a case and then cramming the facts into that decision, as opposed to allowing the facts to determining the outcome. It is a tough job and I think that some can do it better than others.

The sad thing about judges other than the higher courts is that they are elected. As voters, we really have no criteria upon which to base our vote. The system sucks, but I can't think of a better way to do it.

While my 'criteria' might not be useful I think it might be an indicator when votes, particularly ones with political bent go down party lines. Tell me Ginsburg isn't political. That is why the appointed for life thing needs to go away.
