The STUPIDEST CBS BROADCASTING CONTROVERSY of the 1998 College Football Season

This was the year after I moved my family to Oregon, but this kind of programming stupidity was very common during the many years I lived in Hawaii. The guy makes it sound like this was an unusual occurrence, but that is far from the truth. I remember calling the local TV stations a couple of times to question similarly outrageous examples, but I never got any kind of satisfactory explanation.

The Navy-Hawaii thing is interesting, because most Navy folks stationed in Hawaii (and everywhere else, for that matter) are not Naval Academy graduates and don't have the connection to Navy sports that people might think. The higher-ups who influenced that contractual decision were much more likely to have been Naval Academy grads, so they made the decision for everyone else. Go figure.

Man. I made it about half way, but this guy keeps reiterating the setup instead of getting to the story. Only reason I watched it that long is the UT-Arky highlights playing

Yeah, like a lot of YouTube videos, it could have benefitted greatly with better editing. It was a 14 minute video that should have been 5 minutes.
