The state of Memphis Football

If anyone knows anything about Karns football then maybe you could see the comparison. Every year, you hope low little Memphis/Karns finds a way to put together a decent season. Then by halftime of week 1 you are usually wondering what the hell is going on.

This made my day. Its sad to see how far RC has let the program fall. Too busy talking about his great airport or going through his hairpiece wardrobe.

Memphis is amazingly horrible. I know they beat us when Peyton was QB but has ever had a decent team?

Imo they had an opportunity to build something when deangelo williams was there. They passed in favor of basketball though

RC Johnson, the AD, just let the coach at the time get complacent with recruiting after DeAngelo left. 4 years later, we're 2-10 with a terrible recruiting class and no one to blame but the current regime.

RC Johnson is not competent to oversee a football program.

They had some good seasons when DeAngelo was there. They upset Ole Miss in '03 when Eli was a senior and they almost won the SECw. Went to like three straight bowl games and won two of them. Finished 10-3 in 2003 and I think they actually finished the year in the top 25. That was their one and only chance to keep the ball rolling, but like another poster said, they went with basketball and put all their chips into that.

They were pretty good under 10 years ago. Whenever the had that good running back Deangelo Williams I believe.
