A&M took away our margin of error.

This game now determines GREAT season or just very good season.

Beat #1, get back in top 6-8 and finish strong and National Championship is still there.

Lose this one then Conference Championship and Good Bowl is still an option.

Either way very proud of the fight in these Vols!

Alabama is good no doubt! But if we can make the breaks go our way "there's still a chance"

Go Big Orange!

I realize that Vol fans my self included wants to crush the tide but lets not get caught up in the have to win yet. We still control our own destiny and clearly this team wont go down without a fight.

Bring on the Tide!

I "scouted" the tide for us last evening. lol! Our best shot is to somehow get Hurts out of game. They don't have an experienced backup QB. Besides that weakness, they have an ok team.

If we keep putting the ball on the ground, or if Dobbs keeps throwing up a few gifts it won't be close. May not be anyway. Tennessee is killing themselves in these games..

Bama is a team that you can't give gifts too..We like to give everyone we play a few.

I'll be rooting for the Volunteers, one thing about it, regardless of the outcome Bama will know they were in a dogfight. Good luck this week and going forward.

Jumper has played very well the last few weeks.

Good point! Let me change that...

Our best hope is for Hurts to get food poisoning the night before game. The only flaw I can see with Bama is that their second string QB quit the team.

Vols are badly worn down and beat up - kind of amazing.

Tide has a ton of depth but will also be playing its 7th straight game.

Tide has struggled with running qbs and offenses like Ole Miss and UT.

Vols kicking game with Medley and Daniel will have to have great games once again.

If Kirkland and Hurd are back that is a plus. If the Vols are not totally bone weary and can play one more physical game before their bye week that is a huge question.

Crowd will have to be a huge factor. Well game 4 of the top 20 round robin is coming to Knoxville. It is that time of year where attrition, fatigue and depth become major factors.

Can Tennessee pull the biggest upset of the season? If the Vols can upset Bama - A&M will do the same and knock the Tide out of contention.

Beating the knuckle draggers is always a priority. This year there's a little more riding on it tho.

Gotta shore up our rushing D...and hold on to the freaking ball!

Bring on the bammers!

2 turnovers
2 long plays

Ark was down 28-7 before the game got going good!

Sounds familiar!

IF we can hold the game in check 1st quarter or so? I think we can do this!

GO BIG ORANGE!

Whip that cocky butt!

Like I posted last night, if you had told me in August that we would be 5-1 in mid Oct with wins over UF and UGA I would have gladly taken it.

This, its been one hell of a run so far. When Saturday and keep control of the east, lose and UT will have to look for some help.

Unfortunately, as soon as our guys drop two conference games, we are no longer a shoo-in to represent the East. That being said, if this team finishes with a 10 and 2 record, it will be a major step forward for the program.

Once they clean up the slow starts and mistakes, this team will 'force to be reckoned with.'

I was surprised! I knew we were. But media likes to write obituaries on every loss!

We still basically control our own destiny!

Get ready to rumble! This one's a home game!

BEAT BANANA BAMBA!

if vols lose to alabama this saturday and gators beat missouri, the gators jump ahead of the vols in the sec east.

I don't see us winning this one, especially if we have 5-6 of our best players unable to play. We will have a much better shot at them in the SEC championship game when our players will be healthy.

To have a shot, we must have 0 turnovers. Bama hasn't even broken a sweat this season.

Here is the deal, Aggies had 7 takeaways and tons of offensive yards. And we still took it to 2OT. SEC now crew said Bama and Aggies are top 2 teams and we are a very distant third. Did they not just watch the game?!?! Bama is going to roll the Aggies. I still think we are the second best team in the conference and we are gonna have to be flawless next week on offense. Our defense is going to give us a few stops and we will have to score on those. Butch is gonna have to take any points we can get. No more punting inside the 38. Receivers need to practice catching actual bricks this week.

Need to start the chatter now. Winning percentage should determine division winners if equal amount of games are played. If there aren't, division record needs to be the deciding factor. No one is talking about this point right now.

It's going to be another war this Sat. It will take a Herculean effort to win but at least I don't feel like we are bringing a knife to a gun fight. Go Vols!

Win or lose, they won't want to see UT again. They will all be in ice baths after this game. UT is going to punch them in the mouth. They don't want to see Stone Cold Nigel Warrior on special teams either.

bama has racked up points in all of its games this year--as we have. But I have to assume bama is in better shape defensively than we are.
