Next year the roster will be thinner than this year on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

Question:

Will people in 2010 look back and wonder why Hamilton did not pull the plug on Fulmer earlier?

A lot of people are already wandering why he didn't pull the plug sooner.

We lose Ayers and Bolden on the D-line... we have some young guys coming up. I don't think the D-line will be anymore thin than it is now. The O-line sucks, so I don't think it can get much worse.

I don't think our O-line sucks, as I have been saying since the beginning of the year, I think Clawsen's line scheme is overly difficult. I mean, this is the same line that gave up 5 sacks last year.

These are college kids worrying about girls, partying, and sometimes school. At a certain point you just need to let em get out there and hit someone.

Ainge had a lot to do with the sack total. And I don't care how complicated the scheme is. At some point you should be able to knock the guy off the line of scrimmage. That has nothing to do with scheme. Scheme should have been irrelevant against Wyoming.

But I agree that could be part of the problem.

I played offensive line and I will attest that switching footwork is incredibly hard to do and normally you wind up with bad footwork on both sides because its so hard to switch. It would almost be equal to being asked to switch hands you are writing with. I played for a coach one of my years that wanted us to have a strong and quick side much like this and it really screwed up our guys. We were an undersized line who relied on technique and footwork to block well and that really messed us up. I think its a terrible idea and I dont really see the big gain in doing it.

Most overrated stat from last year. Been talked about bunches on here before.

This is also the line that couldn't get 2 yards against N. Illinois when it mattered late in the game.

What about the 2009 season?

What is going to change next is the coaching of our players. From year to year in the off season our players dont improve like they did in the 90's. The coaching staff doesnt really push the guys in the off season like they should. Only improvement i saw was with Eric and the WR when Cut came back and coached them and really worked with them in the off season. We need a coaching stuff to take 2 and 3 star recruits turn them into 4 stars or 5, and to take 4 star into 5. Look what they did to Jon Crompton 4 star that looks like a 2nd team high school QB
