Sorry if this has been posted..I could not get the search feature to work.

Per WBIR
Hundreds of students have now gathered on Johnny Majors Boulevard and are blocking the road, apparently with the goal of keeping departing Coach Lane Kiffin from leaving the lot.

There are signs that order is breaking down--someone has apparently brought a mattress down and lit it on fire.

Warning explicit language

Update from WBIR...
The mattress has been extinguished.

Students are still out on the street, waving signs and chanting things we won't re-print.
A large crowd has gathered at Neyland Stadium as well. Some in the crowd were scaling the fence in an effort to get in; no one has yet entered the stadium. At this point, the students are mostly just milling around, yelling.

No injuries have yet been reported.

The rock is great!!! But why get into the stadium? Why "riot" and deface OUR property when he's leaving.

If he makes it out alive....

I'll have to admit I thought this would be the outcome, just not this soon. Lane hadn't earned my respect yet so there's no loss there I guess.

To the students on campus I say, make sure you send junior out with style :shaking2:

I was at the riot. The charged the stadium because they news misreported that he was at Neyland Stadium in order to get the students to leave to the stadium so they could get him out of there. Lane and Layla's numbers were on the rock and there were hundreds or students out. Fires were lit in both locations but no on any UT property. There is also a "It's Time" T-shirt burning taking place this weekend. There were cameras everywhere video will be on youtube later I'm sure. The police showed up with a firetruck to hose down the crowd and it dispersed. Kiffin's home address is also going around so people will likely be at his house. A few players were there and they said that Ed Orgeron offered the midterm guys at the meeting, and at that point order broke down and players began to yell at Kiffin and he left.

What are we a third world country rioting after a soccer match....come on, how embarrasing and ridiculous to react to a loser of a football coach going to CA....let him go, we will be better for it! There are people dying in Haiti right now after a devastating earthquake and we have kids rioting over a football coach...something is very wrong here! Kiffin has brought disgrace to our university but why should we add to the shame? That should not be what TN is about!

They also tried to tear down that stupid statue in the middle of pedestrian which if they had been successful they should have been complimented for. My camera died before the neyland stadium part and I wasnt there at the complex but I have video of the statue part I'll try and put it up. It was pretty out of control

I'm just going to say that the rock is disgraceful. Never have I been so disgusted at our fanbase than today. I am almost in tears.
