The rich will get much richer with the NIL

This whole NIL thing was a reasonable idea that got totally out of control. It is just another way for the people with money to make money off of people that have a skill that they don't or one that they promote. The dark side of the NIL's will raise its head shortly, so just watch and remember what being an amateur use to mean and how fair away it is now.

Those changes didn’t involve payments. What if the top 8 pro teams in any sport were allowed to pay their players 10 times as much ch as other teams? Those 8 teams would dominate. Same here. It was almost like this anyway. There are only a few schools that could complete. Now it will just change a few of those names.

Exactly. The main difference is that some schools were consistently cheating by paying players a lot of money. Now that it is legal to pay players, some “blue bloods” have now lost their advantage.

Now, under the theory that TENNESSEE was not one of those CONSISTENT big time cheaters, we will consistently rise to the top. Whereas before, we only occasionally did so.

It’s a win-win for the good guys. At least we can win, knowing we did it within the rules.

You guys realize putting a cap on the NIL system will only serve to hurt us right? We have become trendsetters on the recruiting trail this year with what we have “offered” through NIL and I for one do not want to go back to the old ways of booster controlled recruiting where players get under the table money from teams…

Think about this. You load up on as many great transfers as you can get on your initial 25.
Then how many over the 25 you want to take with high school kids you make them preferred walkons. The NIL deal they signed pays for school and gives them a salary. You can take as 35-40 per year and still be under the 85 with all of the walkons. The school isn’t paying the scholarship their NIL is.

This has already been discussed.

Kids will not take NIL’s to pay tuition. They will go where they get a scholly AND an NIL.

Plus there are rules about how walk-one are recruited which would limit coaches from building a relationship with blue chip players who are being legitimately recruited elsewhere.

No problem for us. It’s the schools that can’t put together the NIL money that are in trouble. It’s going to make about 10-15 schools be at the top forever and nobody else will compete.
So like it has been for 40 years
