This one is a tip per Larry....Derrick Ansley. He was one of Sal's guys at Alabama.

Player Bio: Derrick Ansley - UCF Knights - Official Athletics Site

Derrick Ansley joined the UCF staff as the defensive backs coach in December of 2011. Ansley is coming off two seasons as an assistant with the secondary at the University of Alabama.

In 2010, Alabama finished 10-3, capped off by a 49-7 thumping of Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl. The Crimson Tide ranked 13th in the nation in passing defense, as well as third in scoring defense and fifth in total defense.

In 2011 (as of Dec. 14), Alabama claims first in the country in all five major defensive categories: passing, passing efficiency, rushing, total and scoring. With an 11-1 record, it is busy preparing for the BCS National Championship Game where it will face LSU Jan. 9. In the secondary this year, Alabama's Mark Barron, Dre Kirkpatrick and DeQuan Menzie have all been named All-Americans.

Ansley coached defensive backs for five seasons at Huntingdon College, and competed at the collegiate level for Troy University. He started 40-consecutive games for the Trojans, and finished fifth in the nation with nine interceptions as a junior.

Graduating with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Troy in 2005, Ansley is working on his master's in human environmental sciences from Alabama. He is a native of Tallassee, Ala., and is married to Alaea Ansley.

He just unpacked his bags at UCF. Seems like a stretch to me.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. The life of the NCAA assistant coach. You just have to rent apartments or something. No point in buying a house. There is way too much moving around these days.

Would he leave UCF after having been there for only five week? Who knows?

I have noticed that whatever Larry states usually happens...

If LWS is throwing his name around, then it's less of a stretch. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around moving on before the ink has even dried on your contract.

Looks pretty good to me and it would make sense that Sal would want to bring in his own guys.

Bama's rankings in 2010 and 2011 were pretty impressive.:good!:

Edit: Saban, not savan.
Nb4 some clown say it's Savans defense, and all his assistants are his puppets.

No, I honestly wouldn't. And just because I wouldn't doesn't mean this guy wouldn't as well.

Understandable, but what if a new opportunity doubles your income? What comes first, the commitment to the job or the commitment to support your family?
Of course there are always circumstances where it is much smarter to choose the switch. I was speaking more in a general sense.

But enough about me...

Where does Joseph coach if we bring him in?

I don't know...I asked Larry that same question, but he departed without answering. They might let TJ be the linebackers / recruiting coordinator. The truth is, Sal is really probably going to be all up in the linebackers

Yeah, I guess you could do that...and Sal take the linebackers?

Does that warrant keeping Joseph as an assistant. Move him into an administrative role and grab a better suited assistant if you feel he isn't strong enough to coach his position on his own.

This is just IMHO...but I think CTJ is great as the recruiting coordinator. And I thought the safety play was ok. But the cornerbacks were rough. Admittedly, that is one of the most difficult spots to play, but if this guy is a CB whiz, I could maybe see that. Admittedly, all that is a bit of a stretch....I have no idea what they are doing
