Since they are considered unofficial visits, I know that the cost certainly wouldn't be covered, but any prospective future-Vols here for Junior Day, who happened to make it for the basketball game too, couldn't help but be impressed by the fact that we just handed Calipari his worst loss, by far, at Kentucky and the largest margin of victory of any Tennessee team in the history of the Kentucky basketball rivalry. I know that it really doesn't factor into the decision-making process but it certainly adds energy and atmosphere to their time on campus.

This was an utterly perfect performance by the Big Orange. Tennessee just doesn't outrebound Kentucky but they did (33-20), and they don't beat them repeatedly in the paint but they did. They outshot UK from the field (58.0%-35.8%), they were perfect from the three-point arc (5-5), and they were deadly accurate from the free throw line, hitting 25-31 (80.6%). Calipari's worst previous loss at UK was 17 points. Well, now he has a 30-point defeat on his resume.

Yep, UK's players didn't respond well to being on the other end of a severe rump-kicking. They were guilty of at least two technical fouls that I know of. It's just a shame that we couldn't keep that final margin of victory at 37 pts., but Kentucky tacked on a few cosmetic points at the end.

The team is growing with experience and is able to use it's many talents. They have taken it on the chin and learned from it. You can just feel it coming, more growth, more wins and many more future trips to the big show. Thank you CCM and each of the Vols BB Team.

To top it all off one of campus's most popular "tiny" is having a huge bday bask tonight. These kids are probably going to have the best day in their lives!

Calapari in the post-game press: "This one, I’ll burn the tape. I’m not watching this one. I had to sit through it."

Unfortunately, we were unable to maintain that 37-39 point margin to the end. Nevertheless, Kentucky's "30-point loss to Tennessee is tied for its 5th-worst loss in the last 80 seasons!" Furthermore, the "50 points allowed by Kentucky in the first half vs Tennessee matches the most points allowed in any half by Kentucky under coach John Calipari (also done Nov. 24, 2010 vs Connecticut and November 19, 2009 vs Sam Houston State)" (Kentucky Wildcats vs. Tennessee Volunteers - Recap - February 16, 2013 - ESPN).

What a beat down. I had to take one of my cats to the vet and missed the game. :(

What in the Hades was that? I expected some kind of dance move in unison. Everyone was just doing their own jig. I guess it's some brand new fad.

On a slightly different track...maybe it's just me, but does Skyler McBee not remind anyone of Austin Powers...just a little bit? Lose the shag, dude.

When the players were leaving the court somebody saw one of the playersturn around and yell at the Kentucky bench. The player yelled... "Thats what you guys get for beating our football team with a WR playing QB!"

No link.
